Please join us in marking this historic moment in Countybank’s 92-year history as we celebrate the appointment of R. Thornwell “Wells” Dunlap, V as the President of Countybank! Earlier today, the Countybank Board of Directors appointed Wells as President and also elected him to serve on the Countybank Board. Wells was also elected to serve on the Board of Directors for TCB Corporation, our holding company. Wells embodies Countybank’s mission of service and he’s passionate about serving the next generation of customers throughout the Upstate of South Carolina. Knowing Wells is committed to our company value to “Put People First,” we’re excited for him to lead us into our next chapter.
A little bit about Wells: Wells graduated from Presbyterian College in 2008 and after a career in economic development in Anderson County, he joined Countybank in 2013 as a Credit Administration Officer. In 2017, he graduated from the South Carolina Bankers School, and in 2022 he graduated from the LSU Graduate School of Banking. After working in Credit Administration and earning an officer title of Vice President, Wells moved into Commercial Banking in our Greenville market. In 2022, he was appointed Senior Vice President by the Board of Directors, was promoted to Senior Operations Officer, and joined our Senior Leadership Team. Over the last 3 years, Wells has overseen our Retail Banking, Marketing, Digital Banking, Customer Service, and Deposit Operations. In 2024, Wells was named South Carolina’s Outstanding Young Banker, the highest honor presented in South Carolina’s banking industry. Most recently, in June 2025, Wells was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Banker’s Association. Wells is also actively involved in numerous community-focused organizations throughout the Upstate.
Please join us in congratulating Wells Dunlap!
