I’d much rather be working through this pile right now than dealing with my current situation.

My allergies really decided to wreak havoc on me last week. The congestion got so bad that apparently allergies weren’t enough—they decided to invite a sinus infection to the party too.

After an Urgent Care visit today, I’m now on a little cocktail of meds for the next few days to hopefully kick this infection to the curb because I have way too many projects waiting for me to be sick!

For now, the piles waits…and I attempt to behave and recover.

And a big kudos to my husband, Shawn, who came to the rescue on Saturday morning. I was all masked up to finish up the sanding I had left and he came into the garage and we tackled it together... and that was about all the energy I had for that day.

While listing things on Marketplace today, I somehow stumbled across something for myself.

The lady used to have a small business and taught jewelry-making classes. Now that she’s retired, she’s going through and purging things she no longer needs. These beautiful gemstone beads were marked down A LOT from the prices on the tags—definitely a win for me!

Now to figure out what I’m going to make with all of them. 😍

I had a vision for this space and it turned out exactly how I pictured it. Bookcases purchased from Target. ❤️

More storage, easier to find everything, and so much more organized!

What does a piece of wood look like when I’m done with it?

I try to use as much of every piece as possible, but eventually the scraps need to go. After saving way too many because “I might be able to fit something in there,” I’m finally purging the pile! 🙌

Showed Shawn my idea for an inexpensive DIY closet makeover to better utilize the storage in my craft room.

The plan may have backfired slightly… because now it’s turned into that same project for his office closet too.

I guess he really loved my idea. 🤣

Went to Sam’s Club the other night and spotted a pair of my earrings out in the "wild"!

Did I know the person..... Nope!

Do I have photo proof..... No—because that would’ve made things awkward.

Did I still make things a little awkward by striking up a conversation..... Absolutely!

Did I get a little giddy afterwards.... Absolutely!

I. AM. DONE. 🙌

* 213 pairs of dangle earrings
* 302 pairs of stud earrings

That’s 515 pairs of earrings cut and ready for the next steps!

My workbench may look like organized chaos right now and I am okay with that. Now comes sanding, finishing, assembling, and turning this giant pile of wood into finished earrings!

Chaos of a small business...

Want to know my least favorite part of the process?

This.... Setting up a file and pressing a button.

I know... it probably sounds weird, right?!? But this is the part where I feel the least creative.

So many questions run through my head...
* Is this the right shape?
* How many should I cut?
* Should I make extras?
* Will people like this design?

Sure, I could cut one pair at a time... but that's definitely not how my brain works. I'd rather spend time cutting a variety of shapes so when inspiration hits, I have plenty to choose from.

And yes... I may have had a little moment last night after night two of doing this..... and now I am I on night three... Help! 🤣

There's also something no one really talks about... the sound. After hours of listening to the laser run, it can get to you a bit. Thank goodness for some awesome earbuds, a great playlist, or a good movie playing in the background!

I love finding or creating the designs but the real fun starts and I get to mix woods, beads, hardware, and finishes and turn these simple cutouts into one-of-a-kind earrings.

So yes... this is my least favorite part of the process... but it's also the step that makes all the fun parts possible. ❤️

Now... if you'll excuse me, I have to load up some more files and press a button several times before calling it a night. 😆
