Here's one of my favorite recent photos:

In late-October, I was sent out to an Ypsilanti grade school to photograph Sierra, a teacher who will be featured in an article for Launch magazine.
In general, I like to scout a location prior to a shoot but I didn't have that luxury. So, this was an opportunity to be creative on the fly. I wanted a classroom setting to help give context but the available spaces were a little small and cluttered. It was after school and every little desk had it's own little chair stacked on top.
However, I saw this common-area and thought that, if arranged right, it could look very much like a classroom. I also noticed a table with a pile of books on top, and thought that it would make for a fun and colorful setting.
While moving the table into place, I remembered a conversation that I'd just had with Sierra, where she mentioned that during her class that day, she had a Zoom interview (for the class) with the author of My Teacher is an Alien, and she also mentioned that the book had been one of her favorites as a kid. I suggested that she incorporate that special book into the shot.
This is the result!

While I am fairly busy showing what I'm up to in my Stories, it's been weeks since my last post. I promise that I have loved every minute I'm behind my cameras, even in 95 degree heat!
Here's one of my favorite images that I shot during an event for the WCC Foundation earlier this month. The hair and the lighting were right, and the music was getting people moving and in a great mood!
