RHL Audio Recording RHL Audio is a mid-Atlantic based mobile music recording and mixing business. Engineer Chris Murphy brings his 30+ years of experience to every session.

Just because recording gear and software is now inexpensive and available, this doesn't mean that anyone can make a "CD quality" project. It takes experience and a set of skills developed over years of sessions. Those skills aren't part of the software, and they aren't available as a "plug-in." Whether it's location or studio recording, put your project into experienced hands and use an independen

t engineer. It's how artists with major label deals do it, and it's more affordable than you might think. After 18 years as a staff recording engineer at various studios in the Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland area, I bring a level of experience and knowledge to my sessions that few engineers can match. I have been an audio engineer for over 30 years, and I specialize in recording real musicians playing real instruments. I can record and mix at almost any location YOU choose. At a studio, a rehearsal space, a live performance, your own home, or a classical session in a church - the choice is yours! The same equipment that I use in the studio I can bring anywhere. Using some of the finest microphones, mic pre-amps, and outboard gear available, I make studio quality recordings almost anywhere using my mobile computer digital recording system.

Hope everyone had a wonderful and peaceful Thanksgiving. Back to work for me on Friday when, for the 20th (or so) year in a row, I'll be mixing The Nighthawks as they perform at The State Theater in Falls Church. This year the fabulous Gabe Stillman Band will be sharing the stage with us, and joining in during the big jam at the end. Earlier this year, Gabe and his band competed in the 35th International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Out of 101 acts, they were in the top 8 that made it to the final round at the Orpheum Theatre where Gabe was named the winner of the prestigious Gibson Guitar Award! Should be a great show Friday evening

Just finished a weekend working with the band "Rehstored" in their home in Springfield. We got a great start on their new CD. The FCPD calmed down reasonably fast Saturday evening. On to the next weekend of guitar and vocal overdubs.
