More before and after fun!

For today, I am posting a photograph of Murphy, a Brittany Spaniel I worked with last week at my favorite park on the Chesapeake Bay.

The water was not stopping Murphy from getting his ball as he pushed and flew threw the higher tide, creating spectacular water wings as the sun set behind him.

I enjoyed working with Murphy. His personality and energy were fire just like the gorgeous lighting and weather we had.

Before I move on, I can't forget one important thing! My equipment used along with my camera settings.

Camera: Nikon Z8

Lens: Nikkor F VR 300mm 2.8.G

Settings: ISO 640 - 300mm, 1/2500, F2.8.

A little before and after editing fun.

This is Yoshi! A very sweet, and smart Catahoula mix I had the pleasure of photographing Wednesday evening.

If you know me, I love my Catahoula's. I have two of my own! Troy, my sweet, calm, and very judgmental old man. And Morgan, blood related to Troy, who is my quirky little dude who's velcroed to my side 24/7 haha.

Camera: Nikon Z8

Lens: Nikkor Z 70-200mm 2.8. V1.

Settings: ISO 640 - F2.8 - Shutter Speed 1/2500.

If you didn't know, this photograph was also entered in a lot of photo competitions...And it received an honorable mention in the dog photography awards as well! 😄

I've been trying to keep it quiet, not share to all the social pages for dog photography, but ya know what. It's time to share this image to the world!

The connection, the trust, and the athleticism of this team is incredible! I hope to see this image place high in the many other competitions it's entered in.

Flying between the sea and sky!

I just noticed a very exciting email from the Dog photography awards that this high flying action photo of Ryder, a fantastic border collie who modeled for me back in spring, was awarded with an honorable mention 😊.

For those that remember my "battle of the border collies" post. The winning photo was selected by me to compete with and it did very well!

Congratulations to Ryder and his wonderful family.

Hi all!

I’ve been MIA due to someone trying to hack into my social account. They failed but of course, getting my password reset and remembering what it was and all that other stuff was a….process.

On that note, I’ve had a nasty virus since Sunday and it’s getting worse so I want to apologize to everyone who I need to reschedule this week and for those waiting on edits, proof galleries, and photo session donations to charity events.

I hope to be back and feeling better by Friday after getting some rest and taking some stuff to kick this thing out of me haha.

Golden sunrise on the Chesapeake Bay.

There's something ethereal about this photo that made me fall in love with it. I also think the story of how this sweet dog came into his persons world makes it connect so well with the beautiful golden rays of the sun, casting the light on the grassy area by the bay.

For those that have worked with me, know that I love to talk at the end of the session. Sometimes a little to long haha. But I want to get to know you, your dogs, and their stories. Without their life story, you will never truly grasp the reason why you are taking the photos, or why you are editing them a certain way.

I had a wonderful time photographing this sweet and happy girl named Zuzu a few days ago.

Can you guess which lens I used to take this photograph?!

I'll give you a few hints. 😉

1. It's not my 300mm 2.8 prime lens....My shoulder can't handle the weight of that right now.

2. I've had this lens for years and it's another prime lens in my collection.
