THIS WEEKEND: Homecoming Radio’s Final Interview with The Nelons.

Marking the one-year anniversary of the plane crash tragedy that claimed the lives of artists Kelly Nelon, Jason Clark, Amber Nelon (as well as Nathan Kistler, Melodi Hodges, Larry & Melissa Haynie), this special program features what would become our final Nelons interview conducted by Homecoming Radio’s Daniel Britt in December 2023. The conversation was recorded backstage in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with Kelly, Jason, and daughter Autumn (and had been set-up to include the entire family, but due to last-minute changes before the concert, Amber Nelon was unable to make the interview).

In addition to some fun, laughter, and light-hearted conversation, you’ll also hear special moments where Kelly “brags on her children” and tears up when talking about how proud she is as their mother. Plus, we hear about an amazing “God appointment” leading Jason to Chicago to an atheist-turned-Christian cardiologist, whose conversion story included a Nelons music video just months before Jason would undergo a serious heart procedure under this doctor’s care, halfway across the country.

In addition to the Nelons interview, this special program also features conversation with close Nelon friends Gordon Mote (co-producer with Wayne Haun on their final album) and Gene McDonald (who become Autumn’s neighbor just three days before the tragedy). The Homecoming Radio cast on this broadcast (Tori Taff, Kevin Williams, Ken Davis, Joyce Martin [The Martins], Daniel Britt, Buddy Greene, Gerald Wolfe, Gene McDonald, and Bill Gaither) recall and reflect the tender moments of receiving the news on July 26, 2024 in Seattle — moments filled with prayer, music, and of joining hands surrounding Autumn, who had arrived on a separate commercial flight due to pregnancy. Pinpointing God’s faithfulness through tough times and incomprehensible circumstances, select performances from The Nelons final project “Loving You” will be featured along with high anticipation of what God is doing in the next-steps of Autumn and her family as she carries on the Nelon legacy.

Hear it at it's special broadcast times this Friday and Saturday at 6pm CT on hometowngospelradio.com.
