Hello all,
After my break this past winter, I decided to reopen my orders in April. I sat here looking over my availability for July orders, and that's when I decided with a heavy heart, that I am temporarily closing this chapter of my life. This journey began as a hobby I've always had for baking and making sweet treats. At the time I started offering custom cakes, it was a side hustle I didn't expect to grow at the rate it has.
I have shared this before when I competed in the Greatest Baker Competition last fall, but I know there are many of you who are new here who may not know much about me. I have been battling chronic kidney disease for the last 7 years. When I reopened my orders in April, I also started a new treatment for my condition. The side effects of this treatment can be pretty intense for me causing severe fatigue and muscle aches in my legs, back, and hands; making the tasks I need to accomplish much more difficult.
That being said, I have made this difficult decision to better focus on my health, my wellbeing, and my family. In the past 2 years, I have made over 100 custom cakes all independently and I couldn't thank you all enough for the amount of love and support I received during this time! I want to thank my amazing husband for being my backbone throughout this entire process. He has been my dishwasher, errand runner, and emotional support through every single order. I want to thank my family for their support and belief in me to achieve all that I have been able to.
