Is The Smashed Cow serving up the best burgers in Minnesota? Let’s find out! I told them I liked the sound of all of their fun specialty burgers, and asked what their favorite or most popular one was. The mushroom Swiss smashburger was the workers favorite, and one of their most ordered burgers!

Really enjoyed this burger. Mushroom Swiss burgers are classic, and don’t have a ton going on. Usually just mushrooms, Swiss and some mayo. So a pretty mild burger. To be a high end burger you gotta nail quality ingredients and a very good cook. They did that here, and the garlic aioli was a very nice touch!

I’d highly recommend giving these guys a shot! They are typically found in the O’Reilly Auto Parts parking lot in Princeton, but also can be found traveling to events. So check out their page and calendar!

Jersey Mike's Subs has one of my favorite macro friendly weight loss subs..

It’s the chicken Philly! Not the ones with all the sauces.. yes those are great, but not as much for the weight loss side.. so I love this or for about 70 calories more, I love their classic Philly! I add jalapeños to mine too!

What are you go to orders at Jersey Mikes? What are other macro friendly options at quick serve spots for you?

Is Lulu’s Salsas serving up some of the best tacos in Minnesota? Let’s find out! This awesome little spot is located in St. Paul, MN right off Energy Park Drive!

They have a really fun menu here with lots of fun sounding options. I went with the street tacos because I find they’re delicious and macro friendly for my weight loss! They can also tell you a lot about a place and their meat. Not much to hide behind with a simple street taco, so you gotta nail the simple things!

The Minnesota Star Tribune named Herban Wolf Deli as the BEST HOT SPOT DOG IN MINNESOTA! 🌭

I love the sandwiches here so much that I’ve never thought to order one of their “Wolf Dogs.” But man.. now I think I might get them more often!

About every 2 weeks Herban Wolf
rotates their sandwich and wolf dogs, and this Skadi Dog will be on the menu this week and next week! But they always have a really fun/unique hotdog option available!

Does Brick & Bourbon Maple Grove have one of the best burgers in Minnesota? Let’s find out! Today was my first time trying a burger here and it didn’t disappoint! I tried the Three Wiseman Burger and it was phenomenal.

Loved the house made bun, thick patty, Wisconsin blue cheese, salty crispy bacon, and the caramelized onions.. great combination of flavors and a really nice cook overall! I’d say most people ordering a medium burger would want it cooked probably just like this.

We’re at their Maple Grove, MN location but they are also in Stillwater, Eden Prairie, and Apple Valley!

How I’ve lost 40lbs in less than 11 months, and how we’re going to hit 50+ soon on a calorie deficit.

Yes if I was more strict I’d be down probably 60+. I’ve had multiple months of simply maintaining the weight I was at by eating more like 2000-2500 cal in a day during those times of being less strict. But mentally I feel great, and we’re having fun still!

🌮Made 5 tacos for weight loss that tasted like Taco Bell.. but way more flavorful! They also had just 470 calories, 59g of protein and a ton of fiber! 🌮

Ingredients-
1lb 93/7 ground beef
1 petite yellow onion minced
5 Mission Zero Soft Street Taco Shells
1-2tsp salt
1-2tsp cumin
1-2tsp chili powder
1/2-1tsp black pepper
1tsp garlic
1/4 tsp Accent seasoning
1/2 cup water
Light spray of olive oil
1.25 servings of Fat Free Kraft Cheddar
Shredded iceberg lettuce
Taco Bell Fire Sauce (or any hot sauce you like)

Print a pan up to temp over medium to medium high heat. Spray pan with oil and add onions. After a minute add the ground beef and break apart into smaller pieces. Start seasoning the meat with salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, and Accent. I eyeball these and do a nice seasoning here because it’ll get watered down some when we add the water. I like very flavorful meat, so I go fairly heavy on the seasoning. You start to get a feel for when it needs more salt, pepper, cumin, or chili powder the more you practice. Once the meat is just about done browning add your garlic to cook for 1 minute. Then add 1/2 cup of water to bring juice to the meat. I taste test the meat now and adjust my seasonings to what I like (I go for lots of it.. lol!)

Then to build the tacos I originally made 4 but realized the macros allotted 5 for me today! So the numbers might look a little weird, that’s because for 4 it was 150g of taco meat. But this is for the 5 below!

Building the tacos-
Put the tortillas on a pan on medium low heat that was lightly sprayed with olive oil. Pull off pan when warmed. Evenly distribute 187g of ground beef to the tortillas. 1.25 servings Kraft Fat Free Cheddar. I weigh this out by the gram and I rinse the cheese in cold water to get the anti caking coating off. It melts and tastes weird with that coating. Without it, it tastes solid, and has much better texture. I topped it with some lettuce and Taco Bell Fire sauce from the bottle.

This was a great variation of what you’d get at Taco Bell but the meat was SO GOOD. The tortillas are surprisingly soft and pillowy. It all blends together really well, and it’s a great weight-loss meal. Low cal, and plenty of protein and fiber to keep you feeling full.

Oh and of course washed it down with a Baja Blast Zero…
