It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce the passing of our dear friend, John Smith. He passed away peacefully on November 19th, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. He was 97 years young! We will miss you so much and we will have to repost your songs that you sang with such joy! We know that you are enjoying your heavenly home and we know that we will meet again one day. Our prayers continue for his family and friends.

This is crazy

❗️BREAKING: A cheater in a kayak fishing tournament has been exposed in one of the most bizarre (and most creative) cheating scandals ever.

Reports circulating rocked the kayak fishing community this weekend alleging that Pennsylvania angler Jacob Housman was competing in kayak tournaments while actually fishing from a boat. Here's where it gets crazy...

The angler is said to have used a cut-out section of a kayak on his boat to make submitted fish catch photos appear as though they were taken from a kayak.

Anglers became skeptical when they pieced together that the top left photo and the top right photo were both of the same fish. Later, tournament officials were able to obtain camera footage at the boat ramp (bottom picture) and noticed the kayak cutout on the angler's boat.

We are proud to announce a new Pope and Young (P&Y) World Record Non-Typical American Elk. A special panel was convened by both the Pope and Young Club and Boone and Crockett Club consisting of experienced measurers from each organizations in Lacey, Washington, on October 13th to verify the scoring of this exceptional animal—and it has officially been confirmed as the new Pope and Young World Record. This was the first ever joint special panel with both Pope &Young Club and Boone & Crockett Club convened for a potential World Record for both organizations.

On December 31, 2024, Casey Brooks shot this record-breaking bull in Kittitas County, Washington. The bull has an official score of 478 2/8”, surpassing the previous Pope and Young World Record by an astounding 28 6/8”. This incredible bull is less than half an inch from the Boone & Crockett World Record, which would be the largest bull ever taken or found in North America, and Casey killed his bull with archery equipment, which an outstanding accomplishment.

Casey pursued this bull for two years before finally gettng him within bow range. Undeterred, he dedicated himself to the chase, ultimately releasing a well-placed arrow on the final day of 2024—culminating a remarkable two-year pursuit.

🦌 **Hunter Safety Reminder from another group** 🦌

This morning was a wild reminder of just how crucial hunter safety is! A deer came into range, but I didn’t like the shot, so I passed. I thought I put my crossbow on safety and hung it on a bow hanger above my head, with the crossbow pointing downwards. As I heard more deer coming in, I reached for my crossbow while looking in their direction. And then—THUMP!

Raven broadheads are bad ass—they sliced right through my right kneecap and my left big toe like butter! So, if anyone’s heading to the hospital and spots a blood trail, it’s mine! I always stress to my children how important it is to double-check that the gun is on safety and always keep it pointed in a safe direction. I am extremely embarrassed, but I’m sharing what happened so that it may creep into someone’s mind to double-check their weapon.
