* At 439 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen with an additional 0.5 to 1.5 inches possible. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

..A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WESTERN CULLMAN COUNTY THROUGH 730 AM CDT...

At 652 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Arley, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include... Wilburn, Good Hope, Baldwin, Crane Hill, Smith Lake, Logan, Bremen, Dodge City, Jones Chapel, and Vinemont.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Temperatures have warmed into the mid to upper 70s so far this afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Cloud cover is forecast to gradually increase this evening, but we will remain dry. Low temperatures tonight will drop into the 50s-60s.

A broken line of showers (and a few embedded/non-severe storms) will spread southeastward across the TN Valley overnight in association with a cold front.

This activity will begin ~12-1AM in NW AL and should be ending by 6-7 AM in our southeastern counties.

Aside from a few passing high clouds, it will be a mostly clear and cool night across the TN Valley with calm winds. Conditions appear favorable for the development of frost, especially across NE AL where a Frost Advisory remains in effect from 1A-8A.

A few stray showers will come to an end within 1-2 hours before dry weather returns for the night. Low temperatures are forecast to drop into the upper 30s to lower 40s. Be sure to grab a jacket if you have any outdoor plans!
