🤝 A Special Thank You

✨As Jay and I reflect on how far Farmland News Magazine has come in just a few short months, there are four businesses we want to recognize.

💡When our Farmland News Magazine digital platform was just an idea, these businesses stepped forward and chose to support us…before our audience began to grow, before the followers and viewers started coming and before we knew what this journey would become.

🙏🏻 Thank You to:

✅ The Lumberyard Winery & Supply - Napoleon OH
✅ Tomahawk Printing, LLC
✅ Gerald Grain Center Inc.
✅ Grelton Elevator

👥 The people behind these businesses believed in local agriculture, local communities and local journalism from the very beginning.

💙 Their support has helped us tell the stories of our farmers, FFA chapters, 4-H clubs, county fairs, churches, direct-to-consumer farms and rural communities across Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan.

👐 Please join us in thanking these local businesses for helping Farmland News Magazine get off the ground.

💪 And together, we’re just getting started.

❓What is AgriPOWER?

🌽 If you’ve been involved in Ohio agriculture for any length of time, you’ve probably heard the name. But many farmers and agribusiness professionals may not know exactly what it is.

🚜 AgriPOWER is Ohio Farm Bureau’s premier leadership development program, designed to help farmers, agribusiness professionals, and agricultural advocates become stronger leaders for Ohio agriculture.

💡 Participants spend a year learning about:

✅ Agricultural policy and advocacy

✅ Leadership and communication skills

✅ Challenges facing modern agriculture

✅ State and national issues impacting farming

✅ Building relationships with agricultural leaders across Ohio

🏛️ The program includes leadership institutes across the state and opportunities to see firsthand how decisions made in Columbus and Washington, D.C. affect farms, agribusinesses and rural communities.

🌾 Whether you’re a farmer, lender, educator, agronomist, ag retailer, crop consultant, livestock producer or work in another part of agriculture, AgriPOWER offers a unique opportunity to grow both professionally and personally.

📅 Applications for the next class are due August 1. Link in the comments below👇

☄️ DID YOU SEE IT?? A Fireball Meteor Streaked Across Northwest Ohio’s Sky Monday Night

If you were outside around 10:42 PM Monday night, you may have witnessed a rare sight.

A bright fireball meteor was reported across Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Ontario, and several other states as it streaked across the night sky. Witnesses say the meteor remained visible for several seconds before continuing north toward Michigan.

Early reports suggest it may have entered the atmosphere near the Ohio-Michigan border before heading toward the Lansing area. Meteorites reaching the ground are considered unlikely.

❓Did YOU see it?

📸 If you captured photos, dashcam footage, security camera video, or Ring camera footage, post them in the comments below.

🔦 PUTNAM COUNTY SPOTLIGHT 🔦

🏛️One of the most recognizable landmarks in Northwest Ohio is the beautiful Putnam County Courthouse in Ottawa.

🗝️Completed in 1903, the courthouse has stood at the center of county government for more than a century and remains one of the architectural treasures of our region.

🔆Whether you’re visiting for business, attending community events, or simply driving through town, it’s hard not to admire the craftsmanship and history that make this building such a local landmark.

🚨PARENT FIRST. FARMER SECOND.
Every child deserves another tomorrow.

👩🏼‍🌾 Farm kids learn lessons that can't be taught in a classroom—hard work, responsibility, faith, family and perseverance.

🦺 But farms are also workplaces, and a few moments of awareness can save a life.
