I don’t normally record fireworks but this was the coolest fireworks I’ve ever seen! It was 40 minutes long, and came on just before midnight after the president’s speech. Fun DC trip visiting the boyfriend and capping off my birthday week! ❤️☺️🏳️‍🌈🎉

We watched them from the Arlington National Cemetery right on the Potomac River.

Some of us learned to be the strong one. The reliable one. The one who never needs much. But constantly overriding yourself isn’t love, it’s depletion. 🪫

Taking care of you FIRST isn’t selfish. It’s necessary.🔋

Inner work starts with self-compassion.
With how you speak to yourself. With choosing respect over self-criticism, especially when no one else is watching.

That means noticing when you’re being hard on yourself and choosing softness instead.
It’s learning to pause the self-criticism and respond with care, even on the days you don’t feel proud of yourself.💖

We’re often encouraged to work on communication, boundaries, and connection with others. And that matters.

But none of it really sticks if the relationship you have with yourself is still rooted in criticism, pressure, or self-abandonment.

Healing yourself isn’t selfish. It’s critical.
It’s the foundation everything else rests on.💜

Keep healing.

When information comes out that should change everything, but nothing really does, the body still feels it.
Living with awareness in a world that keeps moving can feel strange, even when you’re still showing up and doing what you have to do.

A lot of people are carrying that tension quietly. Not because they’re overreacting, but because it’s hard to process big truths when there’s no real accountability or follow-through. That kind of disconnect can make anxiety feel heavier.

If things feel super off lately, it can help to take breaks from the noise, talk with people who don’t minimize what’s happening, and focus on small things you can control or care about. Functioning doesn’t mean you’re unaffected. It means you’re doing your best in a really odd moment in time.
