Urgent National Call: Secure Monetization Rights for Liberian Digital Creators

Dear Liberia Telecommunications Authority, Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs & Tourism (MICAT) and National Government:

Liberia’s creative minds are shaping our culture, economy, and global reputation, yet they struggle to monetize their work on digital platforms. Many African nations like Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, etc:, have established frameworks to secure fair pay for content creators from social media giants. It’s time Liberia does the same.

We urge you to:
1. Engage platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, and YouTube to enable monetization for Liberian creators.
2. Streamline payment systems so earnings reach creators seamlessly (e.g., partnerships with local banks or mobile money).
3. Protect intellectual property to ensure our stories and art benefit Liberians first.

A sizable number of Liberia’s youth are online creators. Their talent deserves reward, not exploitation. The same youth you call “future leaders” are there watching.

This is not just about revenue, it’s about dignity, innovation, and keeping Liberia competitive. The world is watching; let’s lead.

Creators are voters, remember that in 2029.

Say No To Drugs‼️‼️‼️🚫❌

Years ago, there was a boy in my former community whom I loved like a son. Bright, talented, full of promise, I truly believed he had a brilliant future ahead. Then, drugs took hold of him. The pain was unbearable. I wept for him, for the life stolen too soon. When I returned home in 2021, I longed to see him but couldn’t bring myself to face what he’d become, partly because of my hectic schedule touring the country, but mostly because my heart couldn’t bear it. Even now, I wonder: If I had stayed, could I have saved him?

Losing someone to drugs doesn’t just break hearts, it shatters families. Mothers, fathers, siblings, friends, no one is immune. Today, it’s someone else’s child; tomorrow, it could be yours.

Enough is enough. Let’s unite today, not in silence, but in action. Report drug dealers. Speak up. Protect our communities. If we wait for tragedy to strike our own homes, it’ll be too late.
The time to fight is NOW.

Stand up. Speak out. Save a life.
