PBS's longest-running long-form documentary series Frontline turns 40 this year! To help mark the occasion, PBS asked Dave Brier to put together a reel using interviews they shot at a recent TCA press tour event. Big thanks to the amazing team at PBS Creative Services for creative direction and to WGBH for wrangling all of the supporting broll. And a special mention to Post-Op's Chris Martin for making the sound mix immersive and impactful.

Dave Brier and Chris Martin had a blast on this "Nature Cat - New Episodes" campaign. You may hear some familiar voices: SNL alumni Taran Killam and Kate McKinnon. You may not be able to understand Kate as Squeeks in this spot although we had fun trying.

Premiering one week from today, PBS's Changing Planet is a massive seven year documentary series that seeks to find solutions to some of the globe's most intractable climate challenges. After a critically acclaimed first season, PBS again tapped Dave Brier to craft a promo campaign that highlights the ongoing importance of this project. Mark Haskins provided the sound design and mix, and we hope you will tune-in April 19th to see this first installment of year two!

Fight the Power: How Hip Hop Changed the World is premiering tonight on PBS and the PBS app. Here’s a piece that Dave Brier cut and Mark Haskins mixed in which the filmmakers talk about what inspired them to make the series and what they hope will inspire the viewers who tune-in.

01/24/2023

Mark your calendars! On Tuesday January 31st the first episode of Fight the Power: How Hip Hop Changed the World premieres on PBS at 9/8c. Post-Op was tapped for the promotional campaign with our own Dave Brier handling the editorial and mix master Mark Haskins making the spots sound amazing. From Dave: “It is truly a blessing to be able to promote something that you love, and calling attention to this amazing story of hip hop and some of my heroes was rewarding to say the least. I’d like to thank the amazing creative folks at PBS of which there are too many to mention for bringing me in to help spread the word about this series.” There’s more “Fight the Power" promo content coming, so be sure watch this space!

Post-Op Media is embracing the future in 2023. When Covid came into our lives a few years ago, remote work become the norm. We were as busy as ever, but our clients clearly preferred to either participate in live remote sessions or have approval files sent to them. After all, who wants to commute if you don't have to? Even as Covid waned, we frequently found ourselves alone in our expansive facility, plugging away for clients who no longer needed to be physically present.

Since our industry had clearly changed, we decided to roll with it. Late last year, we moved out of our Arlington location and built a cozier facility in Falls Church. Our staff now largely works from home (with fully tricked-out systems), and we haven't missed a beat.

The irony is that our regular clients shouldn't even notice the difference. We still provide world-class editing, color grading, compositing, audio mixing and sound design from our ultra modern home studios, and we have gorgeous audio and video suites in Falls Church for clients who choose to work in person. Plus, we have a new remote session option that puts you in the "room" with your favorite Post-Operative via live chat using whatever video meeting platform you prefer (Zoom, MS Teams, Slack, etc.). Lots of clients have taken advantage of this remote platform, so let us know if you would like to schedule a demo. Bottom line, if you haven't worked with us in a while, get in touch. Our staff is here (or anywhere you have an Internet connection) and raring to go.
