Having established a piano tuning and repair business in Durango, Colorado some time back, I moved to Loudoun County, Virginia, in 1986, and worked at it full time for over a decade. Other work became primary, so I backed off for a while. Now, in 2015, I am reestablishing my business as a piano technician, offering the best possible service and care for your piano, and dispensing knowledge as well so the customer understands the necessity for certain facets of upkeep and maintenance.
As a nationally-known musician in the field of ragtime and early jazz, and also a pianist in the classical, jazz and pop fields, I am very familiar with pianos of all types. The tuning is by ear, the old fashioned way, which makes it easier to compensate for and accommodate differences of pianos of all sizes more readily than tuning by fixed strobe or digital methods. You don't even need to bring your instrument to me, as I will gladly come to your home and save you the backaches and headaches.
