✨ Reintroduction ✨
For those who are new here —I’m Charly Louise 💫
I’m an award-winning documentary filmmaker with 14 years of experience exploring the threads that connect us — stories rooted in spirituality, identity, belonging, and community.
📍Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, with roots now in the mountains of Western North Carolina --where I am often reminded to slow down, listen deeply, and create with intention.
🏆I’m honored to be a member of Alliance for women Directors and the International Documentary Association both supporting women and independent storytellers shaping the future of film.
🔦 Locally, I produce & co-host “Spotlight,” a filmmaker showcase as well as co-run the Group, a grassroots hub dedicated to building bridges and collaboration within the local film scene.
▶️ My love for storytelling began early — every weekend of my childhood was spent at the movie theater, and during the week I’d “rent” movies from the library.
🎬 After attending SCAD and cutting my teeth in the independent film scene of Savannah, Georgia, I ventured into documentary filmmaking as a way to connect authentically with audiences and explore deeper universal truths.
🫂Through my company I create films that center human connection and social impact. Most of my work lives in documentary, brand storytelling, and education — but I’m now expanding into wedding videography, blending cinematic artistry with the emotion of life’s most cherished moments.
Every project I take on is a reflection of my lifelong curiosity about what it means to belong, to care for one another, and to be fully human.
☕️ 🍃 🐶 Outside of filmmaking, I’m fueled by locally roasted espresso (shoutout to &Tunnel ☕️), gluten-free kitchen witchery, nature hikes, and raising my sweet Aussie puppy. I have a slightly competitive streak when it comes to sand volleyball or a game of Catan, and I love unwinding with my sweetheart — exploring new restaurants, reading a good book or rewatching old classics that weave magic into everyday life !
