So you finally decided to deal with your windows, then you started shopping and got hit with rod pocket vs grommet vs back tab vs pinch pleat, and gave up. I got you.

Here's the whole recipe (it’s only 4 ingredients):

➡️ A French return curtain rod. It wraps back to the wall so there's no light gap and the whole window looks finished. I'd go brass or bronze.

➡️ Curtain rings with hooks. Not clip rings (they pinch the fabric and look cheap), not rod pocket (it bunches and won't slide). Rings with hooks give you that tailored drape you see in almost every designer room.

➡️ Pinch pleat panels. This is the header that makes them look custom, and you can buy them right off the shelf. No custom order needed (unless you want to).

➡️ A woven or Roman shade underneath. This is the layer everyone skips and it's the one that makes the biggest difference. Line them in blackout for bedrooms and nurseries.

I'm an interiors consultant, and my clients send me photos of their problem spaces so I can tell them why they're not working. Lately, a lot of those rooms have had the same 3 problems 👇

1️⃣ PLEASE stop pushing your sofas and chairs against the wall. Just pull your sofa a couple of inches away from the wall if you can, okay? 🙏

2️⃣ If you want your room to feel cozy and warm, you need to add soft things (rugs, upholstery, fabric, etc.) below AND above eye level. Curtains are the fastest way to do it.

3️⃣ Open floor plans need rugs. You need one defining each zone, and it needs to be bigger than you think: seating and dining areas almost always need 8x10 or bigger.

👉 I made you a checklist of 12 of the most common mistakes I see in clients' homes. Comment DIAGNOSIS and I'll show you where to download it 🫶

The fastest way to ruin a room? Bad lighting.

➡️ [TLDR: Ready to learn my full decorating method? Comment FORMULA 🫶]

Most people are using a hodgepodge of lightbulb temperatures without realizing it—daylight bulbs in one lamp, soft white in another, warm white overhead.

It makes even the most beautifully designed rooms feel off.

Here’s the fix: goldilocks lightbulbs. Not too warm, not too cool, but just right.

Use 2700K bulbs throughout your home for consistent, flattering lighting that makes everything look better.

Replace bulbs as they burn out (no need to create waste by replacing them all at once).

Good lighting is one of those small changes that makes a huge difference in how your home feels.

The secret to a cohesive home isn't what you think 👇

👉 (TLDR: Comment FORMULA to snag my full decorating method)

You're thinking about cohesion all wrong.

You're out there searching for the perfect rug that'll "pull the room together."

Or the right paint color.

Or the throw pillows that'll finally make everything click.

But here's the truth: no single piece is going to magically create cohesion.

It comes from having clear guardrails before you ever start shopping.

Your style mix. Your vibe. Your budget. A clear visual plan.

Once you figure those out, something kind of magical happens:

Decorating starts to feel less overwhelming.

Decision-making gets easier.

You stop spiraling in the pillow aisle wondering if this is "the one."

And you end up with a space that actually feels cohesive and personal...not because you found that one perfect piece, but because you had a plan.

You spend months agonizing over the perfect wallpaper.

You finally pull the trigger, drop serious $$$$ on rolls, and maybe (hopefully!) even hire someone to install it professionally.

And then you leave your trim builder-grade white 😱

👉 [TLDR: If you’re ready to make decorating decisions like these with confidence, comment FORMULA for my complete no-overwhelm decorating method]

But that bright white trim is completely stealing the show from your gorgeous wallpaper (and not in a good way). It’s all I can see.

It makes the whole space look unfinished…like you just stopped halfway through the project.

Here’s what most people don’t realize: your trim color matters just as much as your wallpaper choice.

They need to work together, not compete.

When you choose a trim color that complements your paper—whether that’s a soft neutral, a color from the wallpaper itself, or even a bold contrasting shade—it creates an actual designer moment.

The wallpaper gets to be the star, and the trim supports it instead of fighting for attention.

And I know what you’re thinking: you just want to get your wallpaper hung!

But it’s so much easier to paint trim along bare walls than it is to tape off freshly installed wallpaper (and pray you don’t damage it).

So if you’re planning a wallpaper project, please do yourself a favor and think about your trim color.

Your wallpaper deserves better than builder-grade white.

*Note: no, the trim does not need to match throughout your house.*
