When in Astoria, I am sure many visitors swing by and snap a picture of the "Goonies House" to reaffirm their fandom of the 80's smash hit "The Goonies." After all, the movie is an enduring bit of pop culture...

With great fear of an all-out revolt by the people of Astoria (and perhaps the entire state of Oregon), I must admit that I have never seen the movie. I said it... I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE GOONIES!!!

So... does anyone else have a hole like this in their pop culture game... whether on accident or on purpose?

We saw this in Cannon Beach today... Do herds of wapati (I believe that is what they are) make their way this far in town often? It was pretty cool to observe.

Being from the Midwest, we really had no idea about the wonderful and exciting world of tidepooling... but it is such a blast. Now, the kids can't stop talking about sea anemones.
