When I was little, I learned to draw from Ed Emberly's books. In 1993 I made my first zine and have been drawing and making comics ever since! In college I studied graphic design, but my true love is art. Today I work as a product designer and surface designer and a cartoonist. I think it shows in my Etsy shop! I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA, but currently live in Athens, GA. In my spare time

I like to bake, cook, draw, knit, sew, and study trapeze and silks aerials. I live in a cute house with my boyfriend, Raoul. We have a cat called Nilla and two bunnies, Oreo and Jumbles.

That’s a good bake! Sending my GBBO inspired buttons from Georgia to Colorado! I love doing my Etsy orders, so have a look at my shop, Sugar Cookie. Each order is packed by me and I write the envelopes by hand, too. I can’t figure out printed postage to save myself.

Our Story

Hello, my name is Missy. I am an illustrator, cartoonist, zine maker, artist, and crafter. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I relocated to Athens, Georgia in 2002. Currently I work as a surface designer and graphic designer for Anna Griffin Inc., where I create stationery, cards, craft supplies, and other gift products. Past clients of mine have included Athens Magazine, Venus Magazine, Sassy Baby toys, and Pittsburgh City Paper. I have also worked with a number of national and international independent artists, musicians, and writers for various projects. I draw a popular comic strip called Tofu Baby which appears each week in the Flagpole Magazine – Athens leading news and entertainment weekly. My comic Dork Lifestyle can be read on my blog, Rancho Cocoa. My comics have been featured in Friends with LuLu comic anthologies, Not My Small Diary comic books, and various self published zines. In my spare time I enjoy crafting, cooking, and studying trapeze.
