Monday - Tuesday Severe Potential Outlook

Our Sunday will remain pleasant and dry for the most part, with temperatures in the mid-80s and mostly clear skies. Temperatures will dip in the mid-50s overnight with clear skies.

First Round - Monday Night - Tuesday Morning
The upcoming work week will be fairly busy, with rain and storm chances forecasted for much of the start of the week. Monday will start off dry and warm for much of the day, then our first round of rain and storms will begin moving in later Monday evening. The Storm Prediction Center has much of Northern Alabama in a level 1 out of 5 Marginal risk for Monday evening into Tuesday Morning. All modes of severe weather are possible, with our main concern being damaging winds focused towards NW Alabama. A brief spin-up tornado cannot be ruled out, as is the threat for quarter-sized hail, but the threat is not expected to be significant. If we see a later impact time, the morning severe potential will be much lower.. Storms are currently forecast to move in from Tennessee, moving SE and could impact NW Alabama as early as 1AM, then move into N Central Alabama by 2AM, before finally exiting NE Alabama by 6AM. The confidence in this timing remains uncertain, as storms could arrive later in the morning with newer model trends.

Second Round - Tuesday Evening - Wednesday Morning
After the first round of rain and storms moves out around lunchtime, we will begin to closely monitor whether the atmosphere can recover, giving the evening a fresh start for our second round of storms. If the atmosphere is able to recover, all modes of severe weather will be possible, with the Storm Prediction Center highlighting much of NW and N Central Alabama in a level 2 out of 5 Slight risk, with areas East of I-65 in a level 1 out of 5 Marginal risk for severe weather. Damaging winds, 1 or 2 tornadoes, and larger hail will be our primary threats to watch for. Even if the atmosphere doesn't recover, strong to severe storms could be possible Tuesday evening. On the brighter side, we will be receiving some much-needed rain across the area, with the potential for 1-2 inches.

Stay tuned for further updates as we head into the upcoming work week, and make sure you have ways to receive watches and warnings over the next two days!

Good Saturday Morning!
Most are waking up to mostly cloudy skies, with temperatures fairly pleasant in the upper 60s and lower 70s! Today temperatures are forecasted to climb into the upper 70s and possibly the lower 80s in some localized areas! While we won't have a complete washout, I still would recommend keeping an umbrella handy, as isolated pop-up showers and thunderstorms will be possible throughout the afternoon from 12PM - 5PM. Some storms could carry damaging winds, frequent lightning, and small hail, but nothing severe is expected today!

All eyes continue to monitor Monday - Tuesday closely with our forecast area currently highlighted in a level 2 out of 5 slight risk for areas in Lauderdale, far North Colbert, and Limestone county, with the rest of North Alabama in a level 1 out of 5 marginal risk for severe weather mainly for Monday night with a Day 4 15% slight risk highlighted for much of Northwestern Alabama for very early Tuesday morning. All hazards are possible, but the risk of anything being significant is low. Stay tuned for further updates going into the weekend!

However, we will gradually warm into the mid to upper 70s by lunchtime, providing a very beautiful start to the work week with mostly sunny skies and a calm breeze during the afternoon! Temperatures in the 80s will make a comeback by tomorrow, continuing through the rest of the work week, with potential rain and storm chances returning to the forecast by Friday! Wishing everyone a pleasant Sunday. This morning's temperatures will be quite cool, ranging from 31 to 35 degrees across the region. It is strongly advised to prepare by getting a warm beverage and a jacket before you start your day. Temperatures are not expected to increase significantly by the afternoon, with only the mid-40s anticipated, though some areas may reach the lower 50s. Wind gusts in the afternoon may reach 25-30 MPH, resulting in wind chill values in the 20s and 30s. Please ensure that you have ways to keep warm throughout your Sunday. All in all, besides the colder temperatures, weather conditions across North Alabama are expected to be excellent today, with mostly sunny skies. Have a blessed and glorious day!

1 John 1:9 (King James Version)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 beautifully reminds us of God's loving faithfulness. When we confess our sins and trust in Him, He graciously forgives us and cleanses us, making us as pure and white as snow!
