🥒 Yellowing Zucchini Leaves? Here’s What to Check

• Not Enough Sun
Zucchinis need 6–8 hrs of direct light daily
☀️ Move pots or add grow lights in low-sun areas

• Water Issues
Too much? Let soil dry, then water 1" (2.5 cm) weekly
Too little? Water deeply & consistently
💧 Use finger test: top 1–2" (2.5–5 cm) dry = time to water

• Root Damage
Recent transplanting? Trim yellow leaves, reduce stress, keep soil moist

• Soil & Nutrients
Check pH: ideal is 6.5–7.0
🧪 Add compost or manure to boost iron & balance nutrients

• Disease Trouble
Watch for mosaic virus or wilt
❌ Remove sick plants, rotate crops every 3–4 yrs

• Pests
Aphids, mites & squash bugs love zucchinis
🐞 Use row covers, encourage ladybugs, hand-pick pests

🌱 Japanese Beetles & Drought
Dry weather might feel discouraging—but there’s one silver lining: fewer Japanese beetles next season.

Here’s why:
• Japanese beetles only eat and mate.
• After mating, the female burrows into the soil to lay up to 60 eggs in July and August.
• Those eggs need moist, lush soil to survive.
• Dry conditions mean fewer eggs hatch → fewer beetles the next year.

💡 Tip: If you’ve been watering your lawn heavily, stop—dry soil naturally reduces next year’s beetle population.

Ash, nature's ally in the garden 🌿🔥
Ash is not just waste; it's an ecological treasure for caring for plants. Here are 3 essential uses:
1️⃣ Strengthen plants 🌱
It balances soil pH ⚖️, facilitating nutrient absorption for vigorous crops.
2️⃣ Fight against fungi 🍄🚫
Applied to the soil, it helps prevent diseases like powdery mildew, naturally protecting the vegetable garden.
3️⃣ Natural insecticide 🐌🐜❌
It repels slugs, snails, and ants without resorting to chemicals.
Embracing ash in the garden means opting for a sustainable and effective approach 🌾✨
