After MONTHS of debate, and a lot of time dwelling on concept, title, content, delivery and purpose, I'm finally embarking on a new adventure.

This is a *Drummer's* Video Podcast (WebCast) that will be on three different video platforms, Plus BeanPod (Links below).

Subtitle: The Inner Game of Drumming
Description: This is a PODCAST and is a great deal MORE than just "online drum lessons," which can be found in plethora on video platforms.
We take a deep dive into drumming, one idea at a time, from the creator and author of the Ultimate Drum Kit Learning Method.
If you have an interest in the deeper understanding of the instrument, this is your place.

I'm attempting to build something NEW that will help all levels of students. First, I'm addressing new students.

Eventually, I will be inviting as many drummers into the podcast as possible for interviews.
We'll keep it short: about 30-45 minutes max each session.

This first episode was for beginners, and is about triples & quads on a drum kit. I started here because a lot of my students are at this stage.

The main aspects of drumming:

This is the method upon which this book is based. Everything learned in the book will be built upon this order, this foundation. An instructor must have a method. You can’t just “boom-bap” your way into educating a student. There must be actual knowledge conveyed by the instructor of any instrument, and drums are no exception. Teaching just “beats” is the equivalent of teaching a surgeon only how to do surgical procedures, without the finer understanding of why or how the body functions.

This is a simple six step process, in order, over the course of years, that will take the student from beginner to expert if followed vigorously:

1. Coordination (R/L F/H)
2. Reading skills
3. Sound (rimshots, ghost notes, dynamic control)
4. Technique (grip, relaxation, etc)
5. Memorization (playing without the sheet music, hearing it in your head)
6. Feel, groove (Playing body parts, not rhythms; evenness between notes)

When followed exclusively, my instruction method works without fail … unless the student simply does not put in the effort.
