PROFILE IN COWARDICE: A REPUBLICAN HYPOCRITE
I do not support the alleged misconduct of any judge. Public officials, including judges, should be held accountable for their actions.
However, accountability should not be selective.
Representative Andrew Clyde now claims to be outraged by ethical misconduct, yet he has repeatedly supported and enabled Donald Trump and an administration marked by controversy, division, attacks on democratic institutions, and disregard for accepted standards of conduct.
Where was this outrage when it came to conduct that many Americans viewed as far more damaging to our democracy and the rule of law?
This isn’t about defending a judge. It’s about exposing hypocrisy.
When politicians excuse misconduct from those they support while demanding accountability from others, they lose credibility.
The American people deserve leaders who apply the same standards to everyone.
