Our rent in Dominican Republic is $500 per month and includes Wi-Fi, electricity, and water. Cooking gas (LNG/propane) is separate and refilled via tanks, similar to grilling. The price of cooking gas is government-controlled.

Just got through customs and immigration, and it was incredibly fast! We're talking about a blink-and-you'll-miss-it experience. Got off the plane, grabbed our bags, and we were out in maybe 15-20 minutes. Passports stamped, and we were on our way. Amazing efficiency!

We've been here a month and my daughter already feels at home. My wife feels like she's been here 6 months! Everyone's comfortable trying Spanish in stores and out and about. Fears? I don't really have any. I guess I just don't think negatively about new places.

The biggest surprise about moving to the Dominican Republic wasn't the scenery, but the instant feeling of belonging. Within weeks, it felt like home, not a foreign land. It's like it's in your blood.
