Lemme give you the ATX rundown:
๐ Stay: Driskill Hotel , Austin TXThe Driskill | Austin, TXe baron who wanted the finest hotel in Texas. Mission accomplished. Itโs been lost in a poker game and saved from demolition by a group of women who loved it too much to let it go. Took the history tour and Iโm basically a professional Driskill historian now ๐ป
โ Coffee & bites: 1886 Cafe
Still using the original founding chefโs recipes. Homemade pastries and dishes, you can watch them create through clear windows that let you see into the kitchen. Located right inside the Driskill lobby so this was so convenient and fun.
๐ฎ Lunch:
Somewhere Iโve ALWAYS wanted to go, and it lived up El Arroyope. Jalapeรฑo cheese dip, steak tacos, beans and rice, and palomas. Best TexMex Iโve had in a long time.
๐ถ The walk: got a little lost heading back, so we made it a walkie-walk. Passed incredible architecture, art, and a glimpse of the Capitol. This city never runs out of things to see.
๐ Night out: Gambler Days
Cheered on the and the energy, the fans, the arena were literally vibrating. Easily one of my favorite PBR events of the year.
๐ฅ Nightcap: Driskill Lobby Bar โ Sixth Street
Dim lights, great drinks, quaint vibes, then a bar-hop down Sixth. Speakeasies and all.
