The Cost of Solidarity

Be careful who you trust in this world so cold,
Not every ally’s story is truthfully told.
They stand by your side when the risk is low,
But when the fire gets hot, watch how they go.

They speak real bold when the cameras flash,
But loyalty fades when it threatens their cash.
They post, they tweet, they march for the show,
But when it gets real, they don’t want to know.

Watch their actions, not their words,
See who’s solid, see who swerves.
When it’s time to take that stand,
Will they fold or hold your hand?

They’ll shake your hand, they’ll say your name,
But when it gets tough, it’s all just a game.
They love the movement when it’s easy to claim,
But won’t risk their spot, won’t tarnish their fame.

It’s all conditional, a show they play,
Loyal ‘til loyalty gets in the way.
Comfort or justice? They make their pick,
And just like that, they disappear quick.

Watch their actions, not their words,
See who’s solid, see who swerves.
When it’s time to take that stand,
Will they fold or hold your hand?

Some ride the wave when the tide is high,
But jump ship fast when the waters dry.
They borrow the cause, they steal the fight,
But only when the world says it’s right.

They whisper support but stay out of sight,
Won’t risk their privilege to do what’s right.
Their silence is louder than words they spoke,
A fragile bond that snaps like smoke.

So keep your circle small, keep your vision clear,
Not every voice is sincere.
Real ones ride, no need to pretend,
Fake ones fade when the struggle begins.

And when the storm comes, when truth is tested,
Look for the ones who stay invested.
Not in the spotlight, not for applause,
But those who stand for the real cause.
