Abram was convicted Thursday on capital murder and attempted murder after he admitted to shooting three people inside a Southaven Walmart in 2019.

He was found guilty of the 2019 shooting deaths of two of his co-workers at the Walmart, Brandon Gales and Anthony Brown, while also shooting and injuring a Southaven police officer.

Days before the shooting, Abram said he had a confrontation with a subordinate and was called into the manager’s office.

According to Abram, the manager in the room was Brown, and the result of that confrontation was Abram being suspended for several days.

Then, on July 30, 2019, Abram returned to Walmart, shooting and killing Brown and Gales.

According to TMZ, Bally Sports officials say Bob Rathbun’s tests have all come back “very favorable” — and he’s “in great spirits.” They added he’s expected to be released from the hospital later Tuesday afternoon.

Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock defeated Republican Herschel Walker on Tuesday in Georgia’s U.S. Senate runoff, securing a 51st seat for his party in Congress’ upper chamber and giving it greater power to push its
agenda in a closely divided Washington.

The Associated Press projected Warnock as the winner Tuesday night, though official results will take longer.

Warnock’s victory means Senate Democrats — as long as they vote in unity — will no longer need to rely on Vice President Kamala Harris to cast tiebreaking votes. It also lessens the ability of moderate Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin III of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona to block or soften legislation, as they’ve done in the current Congress.

Police arrested two people in connection with the slaying of renowned Migos rapper Takeoff, who was “an innocent bystander” when he was fatally shot last month, Houston authorities said Friday.

Former President Barack Obama mocked Republican Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker on Thursday for bizarre comments he made about mythological creatures on the campaign trail last month.

A newly minted law enforcement officer from Virginia drove to a Riverside cul-de-sac, where he parked a few houses down from the home of a teenage girl he met online by pretending to be someone else, police say.

“It is believed Edwards had developed an online relationship with the teen and obtained her personal information,” Railsback said.

Police got a call about a young woman who appeared to be distressed while getting into a red Kia Soul with a male driver. Neighbors reported hearing arguing, then a fire erupted at the home.

Riverside firefighters found three adults dead in the home’s entry, according to Riverside police spokesperson Ryan Railsback. The deaths were soon ruled a homicide. By then, the suspect and the girl were gone.

The push to tighten the city’s curfew for teens follows the death of 12-year-old Zyion Charles, who was shot and killed near Atlantic Station Saturday night.

“As a stopgap measure to save the lives of family members and our neighbors until we develop a solution, we must move quickly to protect the lives of our most vulnerable populations,” Atlanta City Councilmember Keisha Sean Waites, said.

A Walmart employee who survived last week’s mass shooting at a store in Virginia has filed a $50 million lawsuit against the company for allegedly continuing to employ the shooter — a store supervisor — “who had known propensities for violence, threats and strange behavior.”

The lawsuit, which appears to be the first to stem from the shooting, was filed Tuesday in Chesapeake Circuit Court by Donya Prioleau. Walmart, which is headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, did not immediately respond to a written request seeking comment on the litigation.
