I’m Not Lazy, I’m Just Tired of Trying”
When Burnout Looks Like Disobedience but It’s Really Exhaustion
Bible Moment (The Message Translation)
"Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest."
— Matthew 11:28 MSG
Real Talk:
Let’s clear the air: You’re not lazy. You’re just drained.
You’ve been carrying it all—responsibility, family, calling, pressure—and somewhere along the way, your soul got tired.
Not your body. Your soul.
It’s easy for people to say, “Just keep going,” but they don’t see the nights you cried.
They don’t know the weight of being obedient when you’re empty.
Some days you’re not rebelling—you’re recovering.
God isn’t mad at you for needing rest. Jesus took naps on boats, escaped crowds, and said “no” sometimes.
If the Savior needed stillness, so do you.
You’re not quitting. You’re healing.
Talk to God:
Jesus, I’m tired. Not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally. I don’t want to give up—I just need space to breathe. Teach me how to rest without guilt, how to heal without hiding.
Final Thought:
Fatigue doesn’t cancel your faith. Rest isn’t rebellion. Pause, breathe, recover—then rise again.
