Cracker Barrel said Tuesday that after listening to its customers, it will scrap its new logo and keep the “Old Timer” in place.

Cracker Barrel found itself at odds with conservative fans after removing “Uncle Herschel” from its logo. The company unveiled its revamped text-only design, sparking backlash and sinking its stock price.

The original 1969 logo was also text-only, but the 1977 addition of the now-iconic imagery became a staple of its branding.

Earlier, Trump posted on Truth Social urging the company to restore its old logo, admit it misread customers, and manage the brand “better than ever before.”

On Monday, Cracker Barrel admitted that it “could have done a better job sharing who we are and who we’ll always be” after customers expressed outrage over the restaurant chain’s new logo.

The company said what has not and “will never change” are the values Cracker Barrel was built on when the Lebanon, Tennessee-based chain first opened in 1969.

Those values, the company said, are “hard work, family, and scratch-cooked food made with care.”

The 2025 US Open is honoring Althea Gibson throughout the tournament to commemorate the 75th anniversary of her breaking the color barrier in tennis.

The event is celebrating Gibson’s pioneering legacy with a tribute brunch, a special display at her statue outside Arthur Ashe Stadium, and a video tribute shown in the stadium.

Althea Gibson was the first Black player to win a major singles title, securing victory at the 1956 French Championships.

She went on to win multiple Grand Slam titles, including two U.S. National Championships and back-to-back Wimbledon and U.S. National titles.

In all, Gibson won 11 Grand Slam titles.

At a time when racism and prejudice were widespread in sports and in society, Gibson was often compared to Jackie Robinson.

Althea Gibson paved the way for Black tennis players around the world, including Venus and Serena Williams, Arthur Ashe, Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka, Sloane Stephens, Madison Keys, and Taylor Townsend, to name a few!

Gibson, a native of South Carolina, passed away in 2003 at the age of 76.

Caroline A. Wanga has stepped down from her position as President and CEO of ESSENCE Ventures. Her resignation comes after a yearlong leave due to health reasons.

In a personal statement, Wanga stated that her decision to not return was made by Wanga herself and was in the works prior to this year’s Essence Festival.

Richelieu Dennis, Founder and Chairman of the parent company of Essence, expressed gratitude for Wanga’s leadership and contributions to the Black community and culture.

She joined ESSENCE Ventures as CEO in June 2020, leading the company through a period of growth and innovation before taking a health-related leave of absence in 2024.

In a recent social media post, McDowell describes how he walked away from a freak car crash that deployed his air bags and left his car totaled!

After dropping his kids off at school, Pastor McDowell ran into a Black bear!

While the bear got away, the encounter caused McDowell to crash his car!

William McDowell is the Senior Pastor of Deeper Faith Church in Orlando, FL.

He’s known for such iconic gospel songs as “ I Give Myself Away” and “Send the Rain.”

His album, WITHHOLDING NOTHING, was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album.

After the accident, Pastor McDowell encourages everyone to pray for their pastors.

Bieber had heard Bishop Winans sing “Lord I lift Your Name On High” and wanted clearance to feature him on a song.

Bishop Winans explained to Bieber that he didn’t write the song. Moreover, he asked Bieber where he had heard him sing.

Worship leader, Jabari Johnson, shared on social media that an email confirming the music video collaboration was inadvertently sent to him!

Allegedly, the music video is of the song “Still,” which was initially released on August 29, 2024.

Jamal Roberts keeps making big moves in gospel music!

If the social media details are true, it would be the first music video featuring American Idol winner, Jamal Roberts, and an established gospel music artist like Jonathan McReynolds.

McReynolds is known for such hits as “Not Lucky, I’m Loved” and “Cycles.” He won a Grammy award for his single “Movin’ On.”

Gospel singer, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, is soliciting prayers after being hospitalized for a week!

Armstrong shared a video on social media from her hospital bed a few days ago revealing that she in the hospital.

At the time, she stated that she had been in the hospital since Saturday, August 16th, which happened to be the day of the recent taping of the Stellar Awards in Nashville.

A restless Armstrong stated that doctors would not let her go.

Then, on Saturday August 23rd, a week after being first admitted, Vanessa Bell Armstrong shared another photo of herself at the hospital.

Armstrong did not share the specific nature of her illness or prolonged hospital stay.

Vanessa Bell Armstrong has been nominated for a Grammy 7-times!

In 1994, Armstrong won the Stellar Award for Contemporary Female Artist of the Year for her album Something On The Outside.

Then in 2013, she won the Stellar Award for Traditional Female Artist of the Year in 2013 for her album Timeless.
