After leaving the doctor’s office, thrilled from hearing our baby’s heartbeat, my wife and I were on top of the world—until we saw my car. Spray-painted on the driver’s door in huge letters: "Hope She Was Worth It."
I stopped dead in my tracks. Emily did too. My stomach twisted.
“What the hell?” I murmured, my heart racing.
She looked at the words, then at me silently.
“I swear on everything, I’ve never cheated,” I said.
She didn’t yell or accuse me. The silence was heavy.
“I didn’t write this,” she said quietly. “So who did? And why?”
She called her mother to pick her up. Watching her go with tears streaming was heartbreaking. I was left standing there, stunned and alone, staring at the cruel message.
Later that evening, while angrily washing it off, footsteps approached behind me.
“Don’t bother thanking me,” a voice said. “You’re welcome.”
I turned around and froze. (check in the first comment👇)
