Calling All Performers for the 2025 Buford Holiday Festival & Parade on December 6th!

We’re looking for dancers, singers, choirs, cheer squads, bands, and student performers to bring the holiday spirit to life at this year’s Buford Holiday Festival & Parade on December 6th!

This is a perfect opportunity for schools, studios, and youth groups to shine in front of a crowd filled with family, friends, and holiday cheer! Parents and loved ones love to see their kids perform—and we love giving them the spotlight.

Train hits semi truck in Downtown Buford

A semi truck carrying plants and trees was struck by a train heading south on Tuesday afternoon.

The truck attempted to use the railroad crossing at West Main Street and Little Mill Road in downtown Buford when it became stuck. The driver and his dog were able to exit the truck without injuries before the train impacted it.

That particular railroad crossing is not designed for trucks. There are signs posted warning that no trucks are allowed.

This is not the first incident of a semi truck disregarding the no trucks beyond this point signs and being struck by a train at that particular crossing.

On September 3, 2021, a train collided with a semi truck that was carrying Milwaulkee tools. The driver safely escaped before impact in that wreck as well.

The wreck has been cleared by Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services and Willard Wrecker Service.

A 19-year-old man from Buford was arrested and charged in connection with multiple armed robberies according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Roadway closed: I-985 Northbound at Falcon Parkway (Exit 14)

Both lanes of I-985 Northbound at Falcon Parkway (Exit 14) are closed at this time due to vehicle fire. Traffic is being diverted onto Falcon Parkway (Exit 14). HCSO deputies are on scene.

The Buford Little League Opening Day Parade will take place on Saturday, Mar. 8 at 8 a.m. along Main Street.
