Learn about the candidates from both political parties in races important to our area. The races include the State School Superintendent, Georgia House District 100, Gwinnett County Commission District 4, and Gwinnett Superior Court Judge.

This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Rico of Rico's World Kitchen will be catering light hors d'oeurves.

Georgia House District 100 includes parts of Buford, Sugar Hill, and Forsyth County.

I need your input.

The Buford Business Alliance is hosting a Meet the Candidates Town Hall on Monday, April 20th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at The Artisan, 554 W Main St, Buford, GA 30518.

I want to know the questions you want answered by the candidates. If you have a question for the candidates running for State School Superintendent, Georgia House of Representatives District 100, or Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners District 4, drop it in the comments!

Your question could be selected as one of the questions used during the town hall.

In the morning, bright and early at 8 am is the Buford Youth Baseball and Softball Opening Day Parade.

The parade starts at Buford Church of God and ends at the Legion Fields.

Please note that streets involved with the parade will be shut down to motor vehicle traffic at 7:45 a.m. and will reopen after the parade concludes. Be mindful that city workers will be working along the parade route following the end of the parade to clean up any trash.

Following the parade will be a day filled with the first games of the Spring 2026 season. There are 88 teams this season!

Next Saturday, March 7, 2026, is the annual Buford Baseball and Softball Little League Parade! Come out and celebrate the opening day of the Spring season!

The parade starts at 8 a.m. at the Buford Church of God on South Lee Street, heads to Main Street, turns onto Sawnee Ave, and ends at the Legion Fields.

Scams are increasing. Here are a few tips from the Gwinnett County Police Department on National Slam the Scam Day.

On National Slam the Scam Day, we remind residents to stay alert for Social Security scams. Scammers often try to create urgency or fear by claiming:

Your Social Security number has been suspended

You must make an immediate payment

You will be arrested if you do not comply

They need your credit or debit card information

Payment must be made using gift cards, cryptocurrency or cash

You will receive increased benefits in exchange for money or personal information

Remember: Social Security employees may contact you for legitimate reasons, but they will never demand payment, or threaten arrest. If there is an issue with your Social Security number, you will receive a letter — not a phone call.

If you believe you have been targeted or have fallen victim to a Social Security scam, call our non-emergency number at 770.513.5700.

We are now selecting artists for the upcoming Buford Spring Festival 🌿

Every year families come out to shop, walk the festival, and specifically look for handmade and original items — and our artists are always some of the busiest booths of the day.

This is not a flea market and not a yard-sale style event.

This is a true community festival with shoppers who want unique items and local art.

If you create:

paintings, woodwork, pottery, jewelry, handmade items, mixed media, or student art — we would love to review your work.

We especially love first-time artists who have never done a festival before. I will personally help you understand what to expect and how to set up.

The event includes:

• Approximately 100 vendors

• Food trucks & concessions

• Stage entertainment

• Families and repeat local shoppers every year

Join Commissioner Holtkamp on Monday, March 23 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at The Water Tower for a District 4 town hall.

You’ll hear district and County updates, plus highlights from Transportation, Police, and more. Bring your questions for a Q&A with Commissioner Holtkamp and other County leaders!

The event will take place in the Water Tower's multipurpose room. The Water Tower is located at 2500 Clean Water Court in Buford.
