Our initial intention was to bring another dog into our family, but this little guy turned out to be a flight risk. Each time we opened the door, he would rapidly flee outside, and his retrieval was a constant challenge. Considering his young age of eight months, his trepidation and acute sensitivity to minor sounds were alarming. The subpar experience we had with the shelter from which we adopted him resulted in his return. Our previous dog, Soluna, a pit mix, displayed aggressive tendencies, necessitating her rehoming. As a result, we have opted to adopt a new puppy, allowing us to nurture it from the earliest stages. When adopting dogs from shelters, it's crucial to acknowledge that their histories are frequently unknown.
