OUCH! First off this bite was completely my fault! The snake was purely biting out of defense and not aggression, and you can see that in the documentary! I know this is a lot more graphic than anything I’ve probably posted, but I thought I’d share the aftermath of a mistake I made in the field. While catching a wild Green Anaconda (Eunectes murinus) I let my guard down once the snake was secured and it struck my forearm. While this bite looks gnarly, it actually was a lot less brutal than it seems. Once the wound sealed it just appeared as a row of holes where the powerful jaws clamped my arm. Definitely was the worst and most painful bite I’ve taken and one I’d like to not take again! I actually got the bite on camera, so if you’d like to see how this all played out make sure you go watch the documentary on YouTube! Link in bio! 🎥🔗
* The snake was released safely back into its habitat same day after being filmed and measured*
