Just finished setting up for a green screen shoot we have today with the president and CEO of The SCLC.

I forgot to take a picture while everything was all still set up, but the new prompter went on her maiden voyage today and performed flawlessly. Had a different green screen setup than normal: the actress was behind a desk that I had to pull in, and I used a 7-point lighting setup, with both lavalier mic and shotgun boom mic.
For the prompter glass, I ended up using plain glass ($10) instead of beamsplitter glass ($310). Up close, there is a double image of the text, but beyond about 6', the double image disappears. The big advantage of of the plain glass, though, is that it doesn't affect f-stop of the camera... which is a pretty huge advantage.
IT LIVES!!! It took me 11 days of work on it, but I finally managed to fabricate the new teleprompter. It certainly put all my DIY skills to the test.

4) Shoot on Wednesday with the governor and first lady of Puerto Rico
5) Possible shoot on Thursday at Federal Reserve Bank (depending on their security procedures)
6) Shooting a half dozen PSA's on Friday, assuming we can get all parties together at the same time
.. with several editing projects thrown in.
Designed something a little more robust for the teleprompter today. This is is all metal construction and will require some welding on my part... which I've never done before. But I think I should be able to manage it, considering everything will be aluminum, which can be welded with nothing more than a propane torch and aluminum brazing rods.

We've been working on designing a custom teleprompter mount to accommodate a 24" prompter screen. Our current screen is only 15", so this will be a big help.
Working today on converting some old (early 1970's) reel-to-reel audio tapes to CD's.
Working today on a video for one of the candidates in the upcoming Alabama gubernatorial primary election.
Last night (after I had fallen asleep), we received official confirmation that a market research video project is officially approved. We've done plenty of these types of projects over the years, but this is by far the largest. We'll be shooting roughly 100 hours of footage, over 19 days, in 8 different cities, and condensing it down to three 10-minute videos. It will be a 3 month long project.

Furiously working to get some revisions done on a project for Doug Trenary today so that he can launch his online SalesMind University program (www.DougTrenary.com) overnight. We have another 10 videos to shoot (the next one on Wednesday) to add to his already large collection of video and audio products we've produced for him over the last 20+ years.
Meeting this morning with The Safe America Foundation about putting together a PSA starring either Peyton Manning or Brett Favre. That's followed this afternoon by a shoot for Tiger Paw Software. And I still need to finish the 3/4" U-Matic transfers for a former reporter from CNN...on one of those tapes, I found an interview she did with David Cross when he was a student at North Atlanta High School.

Stacy King - Stacy, Stephen's wife, basically keeps Stephen sane when the stress of the job gets to him. She also handles a large portion of the creative side of the business, deciding on what graphical elements work well for a particular project, and how best to put them together. In addition, she handles a portion of our film transfer, disc duplication, and packaging business.
Martin Adlam - Martin is Managing Director of GWI Rwanda, where he is responsible for new business development and client management. However, he has such a smooth, British accent and is so comfortable in front of a camera, he is a perfect choice for all voice and on-screen work. He has been the talent on many audiobooks and videos we have produced.
Mitch Faulkner - Mitch is arguably a master with tons of vocal options. His talents are heard by millions of people daily and his radio and television exposure is too extensive to note. He is heard on more than 100 radio stations daily and hosts his own weekly show in Atlanta where his ratings have soared. When full vocal and audio production is the need, Mitch is the answer.
Richard Stansell - Richard is the former owner of Action Video. He and Stephen always worked well together, though. Joe is Action Video's go-to talent when the client needs a male for either their on-screen or voice over work.
Heather McKinley - Heather has worked for 11 Alive News, CBS 46, ABC's "The View", The American News Network, and Fox 5 Atlanta (among others). She is now Action Video's go-to person when the script calls for a female for either on-screen or voice over work. Heather's vast news experience makes her perfect when you need to get it done in only one take.

The Edit Suite - A little messy, but the finished editing suite.
Junk - This is only half of the massive pile of junk: things that were ripped out, trash, items that were left by previous tenant, etc. All total, the trash-hauler took 4 loads to the landfill. Then there was an entire cargo van that was full of old equipment that went to the rec*cling center.

Floor & Baseboard - Moving on down from the front, through the hall, to the work room. In the top of the photo you can see a small portion of all the baseboard that we pulled up, cleaned, and repainted before putting it back up.
