Since 2015, I've dedicated my career to crafting innovative solutions for Black women who wear protective hairstyles using synthetic hair extensions. Long before it became trendy, I emphasized the importance of scalp care and debunked myths surrounding polymer fibers and their effects.

Now, I'm stepping into a new role as a product developer and designer, spearheading the creation of imaginative hair designs for leading beauty brands. At Gatlin Beauty Concepts, I'll lead a team in guiding hair brands from concept to market.

Additionally, Latched and Hooked Beauty will supply our lab-tested fibers wholesale to Black-owned beauty supply stores and salons worldwide, ensuring universal access to non-toxic hair extensions because beauty shouldn't come at the expense of comfort.

Remembering that perfection isn't the starting point, I'm excited to embark on this new journey. Here's to embracing the thrill of something fresh and exciting!

I started my New Year, New Me fitness journey September of 2021. Here are 4 tips that has kept me consistent:

1. I got rid of having a timeline. When I initially started I gave myself 1 year to lose my fupa. Well for me that didn’t happen but I was still impressed with the progress that I just kept going and I soon realized that I was transforming my life and not just trying to reach an unattainable goal.

2. I asked for help. I needed help. I wanted and accountability partner and not just a friend who may or may not bail on me from time to time, so I invested in a trainer. My trainer doesn’t let me down. He pushes me past my self limitations. He doesn’t ditch me when he’s tired he listens to my goals and helps me attain them.

3. I changed the way I eat. I knew that working out wasn’t going to be enough. I started by cutting out all juices and sodas and stuck to water. Then I learned how to eat whole and balanced meals adding in my fave snacks but not overindulging.

4. I bought cute workout gear! I use to wear what you see on the left of the picture but once I started buying matching set and getting dressed up to work out I started to feel more and more confident and now getting dressed for the gym is one of the things I look forward to.
