As a result, she became a ward of the court in Washington, DC until she aged out of the foster care system. However, the love and support of two amazing foster families blessed her with security, stability, and most importantly, hope. After graduating from high school, she earned a BA in Mass Communications/Speech Communication (2002, Bethune-Cookman College), a MA in Organizational Management (2004, University of Phoenix), and a Graduate-level Certificate in Domestic Violence Prevention (2011, University of Massachusetts-Lowell). Despite these accomplishments, the road into adulthood was extremely difficult because she learned many unhealthy behaviors, perceptions, and attitudes during her formative adolescent years. She draws on her counseling, self-esteem building exercises and faith to shift from the Cycle of Abuse to the Cycle of Hope. She desires to share this insight with those who are at risk for abuse, the abused, and their support systems. This leads us to Ivey Enterprises – the vehicle which drives her groundbreaking products and services.
