⚠️Trigger warning ⚠️

Today I realize something during a session with client who was processing her frustration with not remembering details surrounding her childhood se^ abuse. I realized that what she was expressing was so familiar to me. I understood in that moment why it would bother me so much that I could not remember time frames of when my abuse occurred. I would question whether I imagine it or may be I misunderstood something that happened to me. It would frustrate me to know end. I would sit and try to remember every exact detail and question my sanity. May be my family was right…I dreamed it. No I didn’t. It happened. I was violated as a little girl. It happened. He came creeping into the room. He found ways to touch me so that he can access me inappropriately. It happened. Whether it happen on a Tuesday in January or June it happened.

There are so many nuances that happen within the trauma of abuse specifically se^ assault. The idea that this predator still possessed a part of me, my memory drove me crazy! I want my power back. I’m taking my power back. It happened. And there is nothing you can do to tell me it didn’t. I know it did. Please know that if you struggle with remembering what happen to you that you aren’t crazy! One day I will name my perpetrator publically but today just know….You are not alone.

Sometimes you have to cut people off. One thing I learned from my healing journey is the importance of boundaries and protecting my peace! In ALL areas of my life. If you’ve struggled with imposter syndrome, self-doubt, or negative self talk. The last thing you need in your space are individuals that either are intent on sabotaging you because they can’t see your vision for them selves or holding you back because they lack the clarity you need to move forward. Don’t be afraid to let go of those who hold you back.

That feeling you get after leaving an abusive relationship trying to navigate the system. It can be incredibly frustrating after leaving an abusive partner, trying to get people to listen to you with empathy.

It can be lonely and often makes one angry having to walk into a court room and prove that you are telling the truth, it often feels like you are being blamed or under attack. I know that feeling all too well.

It’s ok, feel what you need to feel but push through. This is only a temporary feeling but what’s most important is that you get away from the individual that you know will continue to cause you harm.

You got this! This is one of, if not THE bravest thing you will ever do but the most loving thing you can do for yourself. It is time to choose you!
