Golden Gate Kitchen will be opening soon in McDonough off Keys Ferry Street near T and T Meats. The highly anticipated Chinese eatery original store is located in Forest Park. Miller’s Ale House in McDonough recently received a failing health score from the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH).

According to the inspection report, violations included food with mold, raw meat stored above cooked food, improperly stored food, dishwasher water that did not reach the required temperature, and bar sanitation levels below the minimum chlorine requirement.

Inspectors also cited improper hot- and cold-holding temperatures, improperly dated or labeled containers, and expired food items. You can view health scores online at https://ga.healthinspections.us/stateofgeorgia

Good gravy! Hardee’s on Keys Ferry Street in downtown McDonough will be reopening this fall.

This is part of a broader strategy by which Hardee’s expects to assume ownership and resume operations for more than 40 closed locations that were previously independently owned and operated by ARC Burger.

Last week a local Chinese restaurant received a failing 45 health score. Some of the comments from the inspector included bare handed contact with ready to eat food, improper storage of raw meats, inadequate temperature control, lack of expiration dates and labels.

I know some of you have been asking when they're opening... I've been told it should be in the next month! This Golden Gate Kitchen will be a second location for the original restaurant located in Forest Park off Jonesboro Rd.

Downtown McDonough will have a new Chinese eatery soon! Golden Gate Kitchen will be located in the shopping center next to Serendipity and T&T Meats off Highway 81.

Soon, families will sit in this very room enjoying smoked ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and all the fixings while making memories of their own. Kids laughing, parents relaxing, grandparents telling stories — that’s what this place is about.

We started this journey in honor of our earthly father, William Andrew “Poolie” Terrell Jr., and every step reminds us of the love he poured into his family.
