FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HEALTH INSURANCE
1. Deductibles- basically this is what have to satisfy before any service is paid for by insurance provider. Example if you have a $7000 deductible on your health insurance.This means you have to come out of your pocket $7000 in doctors and hospital cost before your insurance will pay for anything.
2. Premiums- (monthly cost) you pay to be able to say you have coverage.
3. First Dollar- this means there is no out of pocket cost at the time of service. The insurance provider pays their portion first, then if there is anything left that's what you pay.
4. Co-Pay- when you go to a doctors appointment this is the out of pocket you pay before you can see a doctor
5. Co-Insurance- the Insurance Provider pays 80% of your hospital bill you pay the other 20% also some plans have 70/30, or 60/40.
