It comes with a heavy heart to inform the passing of Mayor Robert Price, April 16, 1944 – March 15, 2024 from complications of a sudden illness. Mayor Price served as a City Councilman from 2007 until 2011 and then was first elected Mayor, succeeding the late former Mayor Lorene Lindsey in 2012. He was recently re-elected and ran unopposed each term he served, which is a testament that the government he ran with the City Council was widely supported by the citizens.

Arrangements will be announced as made public by the family. We urge everyone to offer prayers for the family and to give them time to grieve properly until then.

Based on the latest information from the National Weather Service and Henry County EMA regarding the likelihood for severe weather tomorrow between noon and 6 p.m., Henry County Schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 12.

Facilities and Maintenance staff should report at their regularly scheduled time due to their essential role in storm preparation. All other employees should not report to work. All school-related activities are canceled on Friday, and a decision will be made by Friday evening regarding weekend activities.
