If you live in Georgia, you can’t watch TV or turn on a radio and not get a big pile of 💩 from a Senate runoff commercial. Ooh, or go to your mailbox. #warnock #loeffler #perdue #ossoff #senaterunoff #makeitstop

Saddened to learn that the downsizing continues at iHeartMedia with the elimination of the PK in the Morning Show and (Ryan) Maddox from the Power 96.1 air staff.
Before coming to work in Atlanta, I had the handful of occasions to be their guests to meet with artists at Atlanta Pride events and iHeartRadio Jingle Ball concerts as well. The first time, they were gracious and hospitable; subsequent occasions, amicable and welcoming.
Once I came to work in a capacity where I was competing against them, though. nothing changed. They were still friendly, and even personally supportive. Always with an open hand to shake, a smile or even just a wave.
My last path-crossing was at the Atlanta Jonas Brothers’ pop-up show. We all sat together. They insisted. Hell, they probably felt bad for me because I was there working the event on my own (more on that indignity some other time).
They’re good people. PK. Denise. Duryan. Maddox. All of ‘em. Good people.
My best wishes to each and all for whatever their next chapter will be. They’ll be class acts at it, whatever it is.

WOW it got cold quick in north Georgia! So if you're inside and still have that one room or area in your house you can't get as warm as the rest, I may know why, and the fix is easy and cheap. Check it out!
What a journey it’s been for this school and it’s athletic program. From startup to FCS to FBS all in less than twenty years ... and now ESPN College GameDay will broadcast from Coastal Carolina University Saturday.
Amazing.
It only stings that the newly expanded stadium won’t be packed to the rafters to help the Chants beat Liberty, but it’s still quite an accomplishment to be a national football power, second to only Clemson in the state, top 15 in the nation and Sun Belt championship bound with a major bowl bud still up for grabs.
Go Chants! 👌
Coastal Carolina (9-0) is ranked 14th in the AP Top 25 Poll and Liberty (9-1) is ranked 25th.
We got in an episode during halftime (and a lot of the 3rd quarter).
The Georgia Senate double run-off couldn't have been more typecast if Hollywood had tried. Predictably "good v evil" character development there. Also, why did our even CONSIDERING a vegan diet turn into a Facebook flame war? Ethan's family has an ugly history when it comes to pets and untimely demises. Lost another one this week. Plus, what we're watching and new music we're enjoying (or not enjoying together).

Now I’ll show off some awful Thanksgiving food options. Weenie jello, corn cones and “throw it all on the plate!”

Also ... Keisha Lance Bottoms ... lemme see your mac and cheese please. Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving y’all. Sharing some thoughts and ONE small request I’m asking of you this day. I think you’ll be thankful and I KNOW someone dear in your heart will be.
Finishing up in the kitchen and wanted to show my gratitude and make just one request of you that has nothing to do with me or real estate in any way. Trust me; you and others will be thankful.
2020 has been a rough year already, and today was kind of a “piling on” of sorts in the radio world.
Well, not just today.
You see, the past few weeks, the parent company of Mix 97.7 - iHeartMedia - has been informing employees of layoffs across the country. Like most of the radio industry, iHeartMedia has been racked by the economic slowdown.
The company had already fighting through years of mounting debts anyway, having just come out of bankruptcy.
Today we learned the last of the local voices on Mix 97.7 were handed his pink slip. My buddy Atwood on Mix won’t be on Mix anymore.
First I want to talk about that dude. He literally DMed me on Facebook one day - about six and a half years ago - inquiring about even just a part-time job. I only knew of him from his being in a hip-hop/reggae band. At the time, he was cleaning carpets and working at a restaurant kitchen.
Made sense, right?
Well I’d seen him perform so I knew stage fright wouldn’t be an issue and we DID need a part-time night host so we brought him in and let him grow into the role.
He exceeded our expectations. Atwood evolved into a full time asset for both Mix 97.7 and iHeartMedia’s other Myrtle Beach brands, eventually ascending to the role of commercial production director.
I can’t be prouder of the guy, and I know that today is just a temporary setback for a bright and hard-working young man with much more ahead in life.
Having said that first, let’s get yo the station itself. I’d spent eleven years both on the air and as station manager before leaving for Atlanta two years ago. Naturally it saddens me to see an iconic Myrtle Beach radio brand reduced to being a full time “affiliate” of out-of-market radio hosts.
Now I’ve long been a fan of KiddNation - the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show - and nothing that happened today will affect Myrtle Beach fans from waking up to Kellie Rasberry and Big Al & J-Si each morning.
After that, though, there’s going to just be a parade of voices that will likely never grace the white sandy Grand Strand beaches. They’ll likely never hobknob with locals at Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot Landing.
This isn’t the kind of radio station we all worked so hard to provide for our audience then, but then this isn’t the kind of industry many of us came up in, either. Mix was born of small, regional ownership with very much “hands-on” local leadership.
Talented station managers like Nikki Nite, Calvin Hicks, AJ Seliga, Wally B. ... with dedicated on-air talent like Atwood, Seth Gainforth, Leah Maravich, Sterling Hill, Kosmo, Tyler Watkins, Rob Sparks and many that even I’m not super familiar with from years before I got there ... worked to make Mix sound LIKE “Myrtle Beach” and be fun FOR Myrtle Beach all the while.
The signal isn’t gone; the station itself not “dead;” but the heart and soul of what Mix 97.7 is and was is all but gone.
Been a minute, but we got around to throwing together a new conversation to share. Hit it!
Life gets busy and unpredictable and our schedule's been a bit "off" the last few weeks, so we've not had/found much time for podcasting. So we played Rummy and rolled the audio. I think Ethan could'v

I ❤️ ATLANTA! #blm
For our M❤️MS! Happy Mother's Day!
My story, now in HD (horizontal display!)
Last night I took to Facebook Live to give some clarity on the changes that took place at my last radio gig, and to clear up the many and varied misconceptions, rumors and social media narratives purposely made to demonize wholly innocent actors involved and not involved.
I'm glad I did this, and I'm glad I finally had the time to reset another narrative: that I was somehow in over my skis in this market or that the fluster cluck of a public reaction was somehow the results of decisions I made or actions I took.
I know better; and now you can, as well.
Letting ESPN know they can secure the broadcast rights to my version of UFC: Ultimate Fightin’ Cats, with sports programming so desperate for entertainment.

Hi, I’m Ron Roberts, formerly a morning radio host in cities like Augusta, Alexandria, Louisiana and Mobile, Alabama, then in station management in Myrtle Beach, SC and here in Atlanta. After more than 28 years in the radio business, I made the choice to hang up th headphones, ignoring overtures in other cities and in other states, to make Atlanta our forever “home.”
Many want to know “what happened” or “why’d you ...” ... and there’s a time and place for that, but this section is “about” my business, and my business is your home - either the one you’re selling or the one you’re looking to buy.
Yes, I’ve transitioned to real estate - and not on a whim. My older brother’s been at it for more than three decades, often telling me I should put my work ethic and long days into my OWN business, so here I am.
I’m a Georgia boy - born in Augusta, raised in Columbia County, having attended the University of Georgia, and all the battle scars on the heart from being a lifelong Bulldog, Braves, Falcons & Hawks fan. Thank goodness for Atlanta United, right? 📷:)
I’m married with two cats and enjoy mountain roadtrips, hiking, biking and huffing at our favorite sports teams. We live in Tribute Lofts in the Old Fourth Ward - and love it and the surrounding neighborhoods, trails and the Beltline.
You wanna know why I’m the guy to help you buy your sell your home, though, right? Well, if it matters any, I’ve bought & sold three of my own, we just moved into our first condo and come with the experience of being right where you are: a client hoping they can depend on their agent. Now I’M the agent, and I will do whatever it takes so you know I have your best interests first and foremost in my professional activities.
So if you’re looking to buy, let’s go home shopping! If you’re wanting to sell, let’s get your house “list-ready” and appealing to all the buyers that keep coming to Atlanta. You have my word no realtor will out-hustle me in effort on your behalf.
