Youth Krazy About Media
YKAM, Youth Krazy About Media, is a community program for students ages 13-18. YKAM is designed to teach them about photography, filmmaking, and music production. The program is structured to provide a well-rounded education in these three creative fields, with an emphasis on hands-on learning and practical experience. The photography component of the program covers the ba
sics of camera operation, composition, lighting, and editing. Students will learn how to take high-quality photos, as well as how to edit and manipulate them using software tools. They will also learn about different types of photography, such as portrait, landscape, and still life, and how to use each type to tell a story. The filmmaking component focuses on the art and science of visual storytelling. Students will learn about film history, cinematic language, scriptwriting, storyboarding, and editing. They will also gain practical experience in shooting, directing, and producing short films, using professional-grade equipment and software. The music production component of the program covers the fundamentals of sound recording, mixing, and mastering. Students will learn about different types of microphones, recording techniques, and software tools used in music production. They will also learn how to create and edit music using digital audio workstations (DAWs), and how to manipulate sound to create different moods and emotions. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to work individually and in teams to create projects that combine photography, filmmaking, and music production. They will receive guidance and feedback from experienced instructors, as well as from their peers. The program is designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, and to provide students with valuable skills and knowledge that they can use in their future studies and careers.
