WOW: This woman, Katie Shellhorse was arrested this week for defrauding people who offered to help her after she lied about having cancer.

In a Facebook post, that has since been deleted, the Cedeartown, Georgia woman admitted to lying about the diagnosis “for the past ten months” and claimed to have used the lie “as a long ploy to suicide.”

Shellhorse has been charged with theft by deception. It’s unclear how much money exactly she accepted in donations.

The situation began when the man became upset over the lack of service he was receiving at the drive-thru of a Tampa Dunkin', according to a police statement. The man was asked to leave, but he instead parked and went inside the store.

Tampa police said the employee, Corey Pujols, and the customer got into an argument after the man became upset over the lack of service he was receiving.
