It has been a while! Here is a post about - Adventures in Saddle Fitting!

Had appointment scheduled for Friday for an awesome client and his new pony. Received this text....

"Well, pony decided to scrape the skin off between his butt and various other parts of his legs. So far, no one know how. Won't be bringing him up to clinic on Friday."

I asked how pony was and got THIS epic reply...

"He is mostly just sore. Walking like he spent all day at Six Flags in blue jeans, after riding Thunder River at 9:00 AM" IYKYK.... 🤣🤣

This barn family right here! So glad that County is their

Lots of programs talk about their "barn family" - but how many of them show each other this level of support? We had T E N people(2 shy moms not pictured 😉) in attendance to support ONE rider at Chatt last weekend.

Our people-to-rider ratio at the shows is often 3-to-1. That means each horse/rider has 3 support crew.

Our barn family rushes to see each phase of each rider if humanly possible.

Our barn family cheers with pride for each of our riders. We cheer for others, too, just not as vigorously 😉

We share, and we work together, and everyone is working hard to be the best version of themselves & to help each other.

So when you see approximately 737934 purple people following one kid around like they are a rock star (whether they are riding Starter or Intermediate), know that's how the next generation 💜

We all go there when the weather gets frigid like it is suppose to for the rest of the week. The ongoing question of is it/when is it too cold to ride. Here is the link with some interesting points. Do with this info what you will. Make your own, best assessment, as to what is right for you and your horse.

I think this one statement sums it up best for me. "Dr. Yates observes that there are no studies done in natural environments (outside) and no studies done in relation to horses’ acclimatization — are horses who live outside in cold environments better acclimated to working in cold temperatures?"

I think the biggest question for us who live in the south? The acclimatization aspect of this. With Johnny? I will err on the side of caution. Since he has had tieback and will begin our rides with a cough? I will not take any chances with him.

I also will not be doing fittings during this cold spell. The last thing I would ever want to do is injure someone's horse.

When you get a message on Facebook from a client and your day just gets made!

"She is going well after the adjustments. Just wanted to let you know."

My - always - follow up question. How does it feel to you? Still feel centered and balanced?

"Yes - it had been feeling like I was wearing someone else’s pants if that makes sense. But I’m back into the sweet spot and my hips aren’t feeling stressed anymore in it"

Me - Yay! You just made my day!!

"I was ready to sell it lol. I honestly felt super resentful towards it and hated seeing it in the tack room. I know how important regular saddle adjustments are, but it’s easy to forget what it looks like in real life when an adjustment is needed . Thanks for the help! I love my saddle again!"

And, this is why I love what I do. Happy people, happy ponies.
