Georgia’s life expectancy is finally moving up. A CDC report shows the state gained 1.6 years in 2022, one of the biggest jumps nationwide. COVID deaths dropped, overdose rates fell and treatment access expanded. But Georgia still ranks 36th, and public health leaders say the work isn’t done.
