TurnKey #1: Dungeon Crawling Adventure Comic Book

My latest Kickstarter for my newest project, TURNKEY, is now LIVE!!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1838400331/turnkey-1-dungeon-crawling-adventure-comic-book

A noted lawman and bounty hunter is charged with treason by a prince and sentenced to become the TURNKEY, a jailer at a mystical dungeon for the 5 Ring Kingdoms.
As the fantasy world prepares for a Great War, the intrigue grows once the position becomes more political and strategic in determining the victor.

With conflicts inside and outside of the prison/fortress known as THE MOUNT, the key to the High Crown may be hidden behind its prison walls and the forgotten dungeons below.

Written by Ar En, lettered by Brian Birch.

Sorghum: noun sor·ghum \ˈsȯr-gəm\
Sorghum is an ancient cereal grain that grows tall like corn and is highly versatile and found throughout most African, Asian and Latin countries. Sorghum Stalks and Grain Sorghum Stalks and Grain In the United States, sorghum is used as livestock feed and turned into ethanol. It’s a popular crop to grow within the drier regions of the States because it is drought resistant. This quality made it a popular crop in Africa — where it has been growing for over 4,000 years. Sorghum is thought to have been introduced to America from Africa, making its way over on slave ships in the pockets of the enslaved. Today, sorghum can trace its historic expansion from Africa into every corner of the world.

Sorghum finds a lot of representation in this series. The analogy is found in the growth and development of the young girls we follow as well as the diaspora of sorghum to influence the world much like the people and culture of Africa into other civilizations. And there exist many more that we will explore as our series grows and develops!

Every girl should see herself as a heroine. What we see and where we experience it matters. How young people, especially young People of Color, interpret their place in the world, solidify their value systems and define their self-worth along engaging their peers in drawing their social standards occurs earlier and earlier in their lives. If there is a dearth of representation and inclusion of their identities, cultures and acceptance of who they are, just as they are, then we as a creative community have failed them. We must be the change we want to see in our world.

The Eternal Realm is a place of might and magic, where many women-led civilizations interact in both peace and conflict outside of the Forever War. Magic was once plentiful in the Realm, but there has been a force that somehow began to prohibit its use. Practitioners of magic and mysticism are not sure what has happened, but that there is a greater disturbance among the balance of the Ancient ways.

The world is protected by the creator of the Eternal Realm and of the An'Fre women, the living goddess, ESHE. Using the ancient relic known as the LIFESEED, she created the An'Fre women to guard the Realm and to enjoy a peaceful and prosperous life. To the south of the realm, she resides in the holy city of NGOLO-ADE, where along with the constituents of the surrounding queendoms and provinces, they prepare for the final battle with the ABIKU.

For many of our reward tiers, we are proud to provide artisan jewelry from the not-for-profit organization Project Have Hope! Project Have Hope is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that seeks to empower women in the Acholi Quarter of Uganda by providing education to both the women and their children and assisting the women to establish business opportunities to promote economic stability and sustainability. Our mutual goal is to provide empowerment, at all levels, to each woman. Providing education across the board empowers women and gives them much-needed tools to create a brighter future. Project Have Hope has tapped into the artistry and industriousness of these extraordinary women. The women make beautiful, colorful jewelry from paper (and other materials). We have developed markets for these individual works of art and use the revenue to fund educational and economic programs. In this way, the women are actually using their skills and hard work to help pull themselves out of poverty.

During our last campaign, we collaborated with PHH and were able to fund a sustainability farm on behalf of our backers, a special opportunity that has actually created a legacy that all of us are ecstatic to be a part of.

Meet METZLI of Sorghum & Spear!! This project is created by Dedren Snead, and executive produced by THE Nichelle Nichols!! This is NECESSARY, family!

We are at 57% funded for our Kickstarter with only NINE DAYS LEFT!! Now is DEFINITELY the time to support, family!!

METZLI is worshipped as the Goddess of the Moon, Queen of Worms and would-be ruler of the Eternal Realm. With her obsidian macuahuitl club and necromantic mastery, she is a relentless foe who seeks to use this time of unrest to expand her reach and upend Eshe's rule over Ngolo'Ade. Not all in the Eternal Realm serve the All-Mother, in fact, there are those who find themselves at odds with the An'Fre, even in the midst of a holy war with the demons of Spora.
