I couldn't help but notice the contrast this morning. I want to help close so many gaps in the black and brown family.

While I was sitting on these set of stairs, two separate families walked past me with their babies around 1-2 years old. Both the mother and the father helped their child down the stairs one step at a time... And - it took awhile.

It made me think about how I've seen (not saying this stereotypically, but from observation) so many black mothers or fathers pick up their children, carrying them down - instead of allowing them to take one step at a time and using it as a learning opportunity.

Note: this does not refer to all black and brown families, nor does it intend to vilify black and brown families or parents.

This "one step at a time" moment of education, guidance, and PATIENCE shown towards their child can express so much safety, reassurance, and ability to grow and learn. Just food for thought on this Saturday morning, as we work together to train, equip and transform the state of black families in America ❤️

Hey, so many have determined that because a guy said something to you that means it's TRUE.
This is the biggest lie. Your worth does not come from a rude dude who is trying to figure himself out and wants to experiment with you in his process. 🙅🏽‍♀️
Your worth is invaluable. It can't be spent on a one night regret, or a stupid photo that you can never pressed delete on.
Your value is within.
It's who Christ says you are.
Once you know THAT.
Don't ever allow some boy diminish your worth.

We love this post by but the real way to do this is not by your own strength, it's first by surrendering to the sweet presence of Jesus that transforms you to serve your wife, protect her, honor your wife, care for her, treat her like the queen she is. See, without the will of our flesh being denied- it's basically impossible to be someone's everything. HOWEVER, with the strength of Christ, we can be someone's something they've never experienced ever in life.
