The Walton Tribune The Walton Tribune was founded Jan. 9, 1900. The Tribune was first in the Georgia Press Association General Excellence in 2023.

It's a community newspaper and media organization serving Monroe, Loganville, Social Circle and all of Walton County, Georgia. The Walton Tribune was founded in 1900 and is the newspaper of record for Walton County, Georgia. From our offices in downtown Monroe, the newspaper’s staff works to keep readers up to date on the latest news and to help local businesses spread their message.

The Walton County Board of Commissioners and the Walton County government family are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of District 1 Commissioner Bo Warren on August 26th, 2025. Commissioner Warren was a loving husband and father, a dedicated public servant, a steady hand on the Board, and a tireless advocate for the people of Walton County.

Bo served with humility, integrity, and an unwavering focus on doing what was right for our citizens. He was a wise counselor, a good friend, and a leader whose legacy will be measured in the lives he quietly improved. On behalf of the Walton County government, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Bo’s family and loved ones. We will miss him dearly.

Congratulations to Loganville Christian Academy’s Kylan Fryar for being named Player of the Week.

Fryar did all he could in the Lions 54-26 loss at Strong Rock Christian last Friday. He ended the game 15-of-31 passing for 213 yards and a touchdown, carried the ball eight times for 115 yards and three touchdowns all while making four tackles on defense.

Congratulations to George Walton Academy’s Beckett Lacour for being named Player of the Week.

Lacour got in the backfield for multiple tackles for loss during the Bulldogs 13-6 win over Lake Oconee Academy last Friday. He led a defense that only allowed two field goals in the contest.
