SEE YOU was commissioned by the Georgia Council for the Arts, the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, the Georgia Department of Education, Wellspring Living, and Street Grace. Because the average age at which children are sexually exploited is 14, the target age group is eleven to twelve years old. This script was co-written by Lee Osorio and Gabrielle Fulton Ponder.
Synopsis:
Trapped inside a mysterious maze of mirrors, three kids find the following spell written in golden letters on the walls: “To escape this maze of mirrors, You must learn to see you clearer. Tell your story to unearth, The true value of your worth.” As they begin to tell their stories, the WISE WARRIOR, the PRINCESS, and THE STRONGEST BOY recognize what connects them and start to realize what it will take to get out of the maze. Using the framework of fairy tales and metaphor, each kid begins the long process of healing after the trauma of exploitation.

Roles:
[THE WISE WARRIOR] 14 years old, African, Black female. Looking to hire adult actor that can pass for teenager. This is a body positive production- all body types are welcomed and encouraged to submit. Having moved a lot and experienced housing insecurity with her Mom, they both find refuge in the home of "The Duke." But that refuge is short lived. Running away to escape the advances of The Duke, the Wise Warrior falls into the hands of The Seer who turns her into a doll to make men smile. Once in the Maze of Mirrors, the Wise Warrior finds herself an unlikely cheerleader among the three kids trapped inside.
[THE PRINCESS] 14 years old, white female. Looking to cast an adult actor that can pass for a teenager. This is a body positive production, all body types are welcomed and encouraged to submit. Her workaholic parents have locked her in a tower with everything that she wants, except what she really needs...their attention. She spends most of her day making videos for TikTok and Insta, which is where she meets RJ. Claiming they're raising money to run away together, he sells her fingers, and then her wrists, and then the rest of her body piece by piece. She is the most eager of the three in the Maze of Mirrors to tell her story so she can get out, and therefore the one that needs to be there the most.
[THE STRONGEST BOY] 14 years old, Latinx Male. Looking cast an adult actor that can pass for a teenager. Strongest Boy refers to emotional strength- not necessarily physical strength. This is a body positive production, all body types are welcomed and encouraged submit. We strongly encourage LGBTQIAP+ individuals to submit for this role. When his Mom gets sick, the Strongest Boy takes his role of man of the house very seriously. Determined to find the money he needs to support his family, he visits a strange house. The man that lives there agrees to buy groceries for Strong Boy's family in return for allowing him to inhabit his body for an hour at a time. Strong Boy drinks a potion and his spirit floats to the ceiling where he watches the man crawl into his skin. Each time he visits the house for groceries it gets harder and harder to return fully to his body.
