With an emphasis on education and training, we serve our members and the community by providing access to opportunities, supporting our members’ work, fostering greater public awareness of their efforts, and encouraging high standards of professionalism.

ANGI BONES started her career in the film/television industry while awaiting final testing for LAPD Police Academy. Angi took an unpaid position as an intern on the film “Panther” directed by Mario Van Peebles. Working on the film “Panther” shifted her journey in life from law enforcement to a successful career in film and television where she started as a Production Assistant, which lead to a successful career as Assistant Director, Producer and Director.

To her credit, Angi hosts an impressive resume of music videos, commercials, award shows, live-to-tape, television series and more than 50 films; most notably: The Negotiator, Blade, Too Wong Foo, Eve's Bayou, Fighting Temptations, Men of Honor, Mother, The Antoine Fisher Story, Training Day, The Gospel, Warm Springs, Stroke of Genius and Crazy in Alabama. Angi served as Co-Producer and 2nd Assistant Director on 11 feature films, The Tyler Perry Show and over 240 combined episodes of the highly rated sitcoms “Tyler Perry’s, Meet The Browns”, and the NAACP Image Award winner “Tyler Perry’s, House of Payne” under director, writer, producer Tyler Perry. She also Co-Produced Trois-The Escort and Motives II for Will Packer and Rob Hardy of Rain Forest Films. Angi is a NAACP Image award nominee as Co-Producer for the television film “Raising Izzie” for UP TV and received a NACCP Image award win as Co-Producer for “House of Payne”.

Angi served as the Co-Executive Producer for the highly rated docu-series “Rickey Smiley For Real” for TV One. She most recently Co-Produced the sequel future box office hit “Meet the Blacks 2” directed by Deon Taylor, as well as “Life Size 2”, “Same Time Next Christmas” and “The Thing About Harry” for FreeForm.

Angi is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America, Director’s Guild of America and Women in Film & Television Atlanta serving as board member. She is also a member of Reel Divas, a group that aims to promote female black writers, producers and directors and increase awareness of Atlanta as a production hub.

Meet this year’s featured TV and Film Powerhouse @ericasheltonkodish !! Bio Below...





Erica Shelton Kodish is currently developing new television projects for NBC-Universal under a multi-year overall deal. Previously, Kodish served as the executive-producer/showrunner of the revamped fourth season of the BET drama series, Being Mary Jane, starring Gabrielle Union. Kodish’s other television credits include writer/co-executive producer on the critically acclaimed CBS series, The Good Wife, starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies. Her career as a TV writer began on the Jerry Bruckheimer forensic crime series, CSI: New York. Kodish, then, added the legal series Close to Home, Cold Case, HawthoRNe, Covert Affairs and FBI to her growing list of credits.

Kodish’s passion for writing crystallized at Northwestern University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree from the School of Communication. Upon graduation, Kodish landed a job at the PBS affiliate, WTTW Channel 11 - Chicago.

Kodish, who was born in Detroit, Michigan, moved to Los Angeles when she was awarded the Courtney and Stephen J. Ross Fellowship at the University of Southern California. This fellowship, created by the former head of Time Warner and his widow, was designed to give deserving women an opportunity to pursue a degree in USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.

After receiving her M.F.A. in Screenwriting, Kodish went on to become a recipient of the Fox Writers Initiative Fellowship.

She has spoken at such institutions as Emory University, Spelman College, University of California, Los Angeles, University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television, Goucher College and Phi Theta Kappa’s Honors Institute, FUSION: ACCESS LA, the Pan African Film Festival and was honored in The Root 100’s annual ranking of most influential African-American leaders.

Kodish lives in Los Angeles with her husband Adam, and sons, Elliot and Levi. She is a member of the Writers Guild of America and Northwestern University’s Council of One Hundred.

A Detroit native, visionary storyteller and multiple award-winning filmmaker, Christine Swanson earned her MFA in Film from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, one of the nation’s top-ranked graduate film programs. CNN identified Christine as one of the most promising filmmakers to emerge from NYU’s graduate film program since Martin Scorsese, Ang Lee, Oliver Stone, and Spike Lee (Christine’s NYU directing teacher). Christine also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, double majoring in Communications and Japanese.

Christine has developed, written and/or directed movie projects for various companies including HBO Films, Magnolia Pictures, State Street Pictures, TV One, and Faith Filmworks, her own independent film company. Christine has written and/or directed numerous award- winning feature films, television episodes, commercials and short films in her career. Some of her award- winning titles include, Two Seasons (winner HBO Short Film Competition, Sundance selection), All About You (winner Audience Choice Award Chicago International Film Festival, Grand Jury Prize Hollywood Black Film Festival, Festival Award at the Pan African Film Festival, and the Film of the Year Award at the Santa Barbara African Heritage Film Series) starring Renee Elise Goldsberry, Terron Brooks, and Debbie Allen; All About Us (invited to the prestigious Heartland Film Festival, The Chicago International Film Festival, and the Cannes Festival du Film Panafricain) starring Boris Kodjoe, Ryan Bathe, and Ruby Dee; and Woman Thou Art Loosed (Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Blockbuster Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the American Black Film Festival) starring Kimberly Elise and Loretta Devine.

In 2015, Christine received an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Television Motion Picture for For the Love of Ruth. Christine also directed three original cable movie premieres for TV One entitled, To Hell and Back (starring Ernie Hudson and Vanessa Bell Calloway), For the Love of Ruth

Francesca Amiker is proud to return to her hometown of Atlanta! She has served as NBC Atlanta’s only Entertainment Anchor (a position she created herself) for the last three years. She attended Vanderbilt University and graduated at the top of her class. Less than a decade later, Francesca has won 3 EMMYS, 2 Edward Murrows, Employee of the Year Station-wide and she does it all while interviewing some of your favorite celebrities!

When she arrived to 11Alive she created a segment called The A-scene and in that segment she takes viewers behind the scenes of movies, television shows, music videos, casting calls; all filmed in Georgia.

As the Entertainment Anchor on Morning Rush, Francesca has interviewed Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Halle Berry, John Travolta, Dwayne ‘the rock’ Johnson, 2chainz, T-I and so many more! Sher has truly created a lane for herself and wants to instill that mission into everyone that she comes across.

Meet Keisha Burnette! She will be speaking tomorrow on @wiftatlanta @facebook LIVE at 11AM EST!

Keisha Burnette is the Director of Business & Legal Affairs at the Game Show Network (a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc.). She is responsible for legal matters related to the development, production and marketing of the Network’s live-action original and licensed programming. She structures, drafts and negotiates a wide range of talent agreements, including producer, director, showrunner and crew deals. She advises clients on matters related to music licensing, technology, intellectual property, sweepstakes and promotions. She is also responsible for advising the Network on the development, clearance and use of content across all media platforms.

Keisha previously served as a Senior Attorney with the City of Atlanta’s Law Department, where she provided legal counsel to the Mayor’s Office of Film and Entertainment on television and feature film production in Atlanta. She managed and negotiated matters related to contracts, intellectual property, special events and regulatory compliance. Keisha’s film, and television projects include Black Panther, Baby Driver, Family Feud, the Fast and Furious and Avengers: Endgame. She also served as the city’s Government Liaison to the Atlanta Football Host Committee to facilitate the city’s hosting of the College Football Playoff Championship and Super Bowl LIII.

Meet @latishafortune , one of @wiftatlanta ‘s newest board members to chat!

Latisha Fortune is an award winning filmmaker. She recognized her calling for filmmaking while working at Tyler Perry Studios on the productions of MADEA’S FAMILY REUNION, DADDY’S LITTLE GIRLS, WHY DID I GET MARRIED?, MEET THE BROWNS and HOUSE OF PAYNE. Working from the bottom up, Latisha gained invaluable knowledge starting out as an intern, PA, Executive Assistant, and finally Studio Office Manager at Tyler Perry Studios. With a hunger for hands on production, Latisha segued into physical production for various major studios. She has worked up the ranks as an Assistant Production Coordinator, Production Coordinator, now Production Supervisor. Her films and television credits include the Oscar Nominated film, THE BLIND SIDE, CELL, +1, ALL EYEZ ON ME aka TUPAC, SURVIVING COMPTON, SURVIVOR'S REMORSE, THE RED ROAD, SOLACE, THE DETOUR, THE QUAD, BOBBY BROWN, and AMERICAN SOUL.

As an emerging filmmaker, Latisha has produced over a dozen short films and TV pilots, which have won awards. BEFORE I WAKE won Best Film in The Doorpost Film Project. That year both THE BLACK CAGE and BEFORE I WAKE were 2 of 7 Top films in the BET Lens On Talent Competition of 2010. STANDING REIGN was awarded ‘Best Film of Atlanta’ in the 48 Hour Film Festival, ‘Best Short’ in the TOMI Film Festival of New Orleans, ‘Best Narrative Short’ in the International Black Film Festival of Nashville and was also chosen for distribution on the “Best of 48 Hour Film Project 2007” DVD.

Latisha founded a production company, Great Fortune Films Inc. and produced THE END AGAIN (starring Columbus Short and his former wife Tanee McCall), a prequel to the feature film REALLY LOVE. The production company has several other projects in development including TWIIN, HER IMPERIAL MAJESTY, SYMPHONY OF HER, BARRS, 3:30, CLOSE TO HOME and THE NEXT SUPER PRODUCER. Latisha studied producing at New York University and filmmaking at the New York Film Academy.

Shellie Schmals is all over the Atlanta arts scene, from her current position as Film Programming Manager with the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival to her involvement with local artists and galleries. Shellie is an improv actress and comedy producer at Relapse Theatre and co-founder of Minette Magnifique, Creative Loafing’s pick for 2013 Best Burlesque Troupe. Currently, Shellie fills her creative world as founder and emcee of Roxie Roz – a 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll burlesque troupe. In addition to beginning her term on the WIFTA Board of Directors, Shellie is active in Georgia Production Partnership and coordinates an annual fundraiser for Bullseye Rescue, aptly named “Pit Bulls and Poodle Skirts”.
